Did anyone see the kid just interviewed in MSNBC??
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 04:54 PM by Donailin
He's a Biloxi refugee and was asked, "What did you think of the presidents's address?"

"He ain't president no more! President Bush don't know what he's doin!"

and on and on in that Biloxi way of talking. It was priceless, he just ranted on and on about Bush and gas and the lack of necessities. When the interviewer was done, he just stood there waving his hands like he had more to say while he looked in the camera. He reminded me of Eminem. Imagine MSNBC asking Eminem what he thought of Bush, and what the answer would be. It was like that.

It was so great.

I've been working all day with no TV and I came home to catch the tailend of Asshats address. I lost count of how many times he stuttered and mumbled and shifted feet.

He had a glorious opprtunity to gather support here and I think he blew it. Call me crazy for having hope, as much as I despise him, I despise suffering more and he had the chance to give people the motivation to have hope and get through this.

I would have said in the most authoratative tone: "New Orleans WILL be back. Make no mistake, it will be MY priority to restore this city."

This is so depressing, we have no leadership that commands attenton here, he has no moral authority at all.

40. After the F-word was used on Fox the other day
you'd think they would've already thought of that - either delayed feed so they could cut it off (a.k.a. technical difficulties) or pre-screening (like BushCo). This reporter must not have been in that WH Press Corps dinner last week.

female reporter said they had to leave NO just getting too bad. Said that people were angry about the fact that no preparation was planned for this and the amount that is being done is nothing. They blame Bush, and they take it all the way to the Mayor, but bush is the number hated person for those left behind and being rescued....

33. *sigh* I saw that....I agree with the sentiment.
I felt sorry for the kid. He's hot, frustrated, and has nothing. But I would be very surprised if he has voted once in his life.

Something John McCain said not too long ago was true enough. People need to start realizing that elections have consequences. A majority of people in this country DO NOT vote.

The fact that President Bush removed monies to upgrade the levees to withstand a Category 4 storm THIS YEAR are very telling. How many people will remember that come 2006?

The American people HAVE to wake up and start paying attention. There's a lot of work to do, and a lot of sacrifices will have to be made to straighten out this mess.

And for asshat to think he can read from a script his usual BS platitudes and commands that he can't even fucking pronounce and believe that folks will rally around him makes him . . about as certifiable and delusional as all get out.

Bush was on the radio and I was trying to listen to what he had to say. So I told the boys (ages 7 and 10) to be quiet that the President was speaking. 7 year old David says ... "So ... he's not MY president!" 10 year old Alex agreed and said "He's not my President either."

I didn't realize how much I was subliminaly influencing them. I just turned off the radio and smiled.

Because I have two boys who could articulate their contempt for Junior, too, but they won't be able to vcte for six years, at least.

Talk works, too. Especially in situations like this when the failures of this admin. are graphically shown in the disaster footage from Katrina.
