I think that CNN is turning against bushyboy.
EVERY SINGLE story on their website that mentions the Resident seems to contain this statement: "The president cut short his Texas vacation by two days to return to Washington for meetings on the hurricane's devastation.'

I really believe theyr'e hammering on this point because they've had enough of this lazy, incompetent fuckhead and are getting their little digs wherever they can...

What do you think? Am I indulging in wishful thinking here?

2. Probably is wishful thinking
I e-mailed them and begged them to stop praising him for cutting his vacation short.

5. Doesn't that make it sound like he did something good by cutting
short his vacation? That's a good thing, isn't it?

I think that's what I saw

I think CNN is trying to pull their heads a little out of the chimp's behind ... i've noticed VERY small subtle changes ...but changes none the less.

6. Depends on your perspective....
I'm sure the Freepers are praising Bush for cutting his vacation short... Bush being known for his dillegence and work ethic and all that. :eyes:

7. They damn him with faint praise, you think?
I don't know. I think, if you're right, it's unintentional on CNN's part. The bar is set so low for him that, when he does something that's expected of him, they treat it as if it were above and beyond the call of duty.

11. Exactly! When you schedule 5 weeks vacation
and only take 4 1/2 weeks, you seem like a workaholic!

13. yes - and i think they are showing signs
of coming back to reality. It is Corporate Media, so I don't know how much actual investigative journalism or journalistic integrity we can expect, more of catering to the consumer... but at least they do show signs of moving out of the * propaganda machine.

10. Last night on CNN, Aaron Brown made a comment...
I wish I remembered exactly what it was, but it clearly a snide dig at Bush and his apparent lack of concern in the face of the ongoing emergency.

14. "Oil and Gas industry are part of the problem"
This was said by the Commander of the Army Corps. of Engineers on CNN in Washington talking about the environmental variables and reconstruction.

17. you may be on to something
And I think the mayor of New Orleans has something to do with this. Last night in the mayor's statement and interview on CNN he stated clearly that Bush's response to his calls for help had been that he was unavailable. Worse, he didn't return the mayor's calls.

Then there was a public plea for help made by a prominent New Orleans citizen and friend of the mayor. The pathos of it all was quite obvious.

Then the commentator (don't know the name) looked into the camera and said there will be a lot of questions now about how this could have been allowed to happen on all levels. And then he said the questions aren't going to go away. It seemed clear to me that CNN was positioning itself on the side of the NO mayor who quite obviously has a serious issue with W at this point.

The story is just beginning to unfold and I suspect that Bush has just made a whole bunch of new and powerful enemies.
