5. It's nuts. I think we probably SHOULD be paying more for gas, but
not overnight. How are people supposed to adjust?

My town is NOT bike friendly -- narrow, extremely steep streets filled with crazy SUV driving college students -- but I'm taking my husband's bike out of the cellar and oiling it up. About time, too.

I just hope I don't get killed by a freshman from Long Island driving his graduation present...

6. Gouging
Yep before the hurricane, 2.69, after 3.35. Oh and we have the refinery right here in town and we don't get our oil from LA. So basically they are raising the price because they can, and no one is going to stop them. I hold Democrats responsible for this also. No one is standing up for the regular guy, and don't think this wont affect th economy. I listen to Bush talk about how strong the economy is, but people are getting killed in fuel costs. There is a reason people aren't buying new cars, and that the numbers at retail stores have been down for 4 straight quarters. NO ONE CAN AFFORD to buy anything. This is nuts!!!
