This is SO much worse than 9/11.
This devastation is absolutely unbelievable.

And it's only getting WORSE. Three days into it.

This is fucking insanity.

FUCK YOU, GEORGE W. BUSH, you INCOMPETENT FOOL.

It's criminal what this guy is doing, both inside and outside the country.

4. So?
1000's of people lost their homes in NYC on 9-11 too. Downtown Manhattan is a very densely populated area. People managed to get through it. We can do it again. The storm has passed. Now it's time to help each other and just get through this and we can if everyone stays cool.

10. Just wait until after this weekend
...when the gas shortages hit all over the country.

The LOOP terminal is still down. The majority of Gulf refineries are still down. Keep in mind that they shut them down a day before the hurricane hit. That means that by Saturday, it will have been a week since gas was delivered to distributors around most of the country.

I heard today that many distribution terminals around the country are already out of gas. That means that what your local gas station has in the ground might be all there is for another week or so (could be longer, worst case). IIRC, most gas station have about 5-10 days worth of gas on hand after they get a delivery.

Once they get the refineries on the Gulf up and running again, there will be gas available within a day or two (probably closer to two or maybe three to make it to a local gas station). But I am expecting widespread shortages for at least one or two days next week, unless they get everything going by Friday.

It will be a temporary situation, though. This time.
