6. I saw that too and I wonder
has there ever been a time in the US when help wasn't there almost immediately? I don't recall a time when people had to wait for help to arrive? Did this happen with Andrew?

8. The poor response to Andrew ultimately
hurt Poppy politically in 1992.

17. Yes, this did happen with Andrew.
People wrote "WHERE IS GEORGE?" on their rooftops. Poppy went to Ocean reef in the upper Keys to check on his friends, but ignored the poor suckers in south Florida who lost everything.

And yes, that is when many people down here turned on bush sr. and spread the word. And ultimately down came his re-election dreams.

You'd have thought junior would have learned something from that. But then again, he's not running for anything anymore, so he really doesn't give a shit.

12. I don't know about that
My most conservative friend (neck so read it burns you if you touch it :-) no longer supports his favorite president. I was surprised at breakfast today when he told me that. He wants someone, any party, to come forward with a real plan to get us out of debt and improve the economy. He's a truck drive so you can imagine his concern for the price of gas.

15. Good
Finally, a little humanity - a little reality in all the scripted bullshit of the corporate media. I noticed he was wrapped pretty tightly last night - holding it together. Flat affect - very objective as he reported. Guess he finally snapped. What person with a heart wouldn't in all that unnecessary suffering?
