It's an article on the investigation. Basically the reporter has chosen to publicize a Republican with loose lips.

"If you make it a partisan squabble, it casts doubt on the whole story and people tune it out," a House Republican aide said.

Here is what the reporter is trying to convey:

These bastards are trying to cover up this story with a fabricated partisan battle. You should avoid this. Let us do our jobs and we'll give you control of the Senate and the Presidency.

I think we are finally winning over the press. If even 80% of them are responsible journalists, Bush is screwed. Especially in the print media.
