Senate chief asks Schwarzenegger to return jet sales tax money
Democratic state Senate leader John Burton said Thursday that Republican candidate for governor Arnold Schwarzenegger should pay nearly $800,000 in sales taxes he avoided while buying a corporate jet in 1990.

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that instead of just buying the $12 million Gulfstream III -- which would have triggered a sales tax of between $765,000 and $796,000 -- Schwarzenegger purchased the stock of G-3 Charter Corp., which owned the jet.
