What can we do to help Nagin?
I feel he fears for his safety.

1. The minute he said,
The minute he said, "Get off your asses," he was a dead man. * will see to it.

6. Saying the CIA might whack him was probably the smartest
thing he could do. Makes it hard for them to blame a "distraught flood victim. Welcome to DU.

2. He is fine. I don't know why he would be making you think he is the
victim here.

In his interview he was clear on having requested real busses for evacuees. He also volunteered to be replaced in the Feds didn't want to work with him. His overwhelming concern was for the people in NO. He was elected to fight corruption and did.

I don't know why you think he is playing the victim here. He has not so far shown that.

3. He just said the CIA could wipe him out for the way he has been talking..
I think that is what people are concerned about now.

5. Maybe you misunderstood, I don't think he is playing anything,
I think he may be afraid because he spoke so boldly, and if I were him I'd be afraid too. My question was what can we do to help him, as in cast a favorable light his way, to protect him.

7. I think he is sort of a hero to speak up
With any luck maybe he will not be blamed for every thing that went wrong for his little talk. I am sure Bush will never forgive him.

8. As he said on the first interview, we should keep talking

I think he knew a long time ago the gov had left him out to dry and were going to try and blame him. He's a smart guy who's not afraid to say what he thinks - I love it.
