I just had one of those "slap on the forehead" moments.
Did anybody notice that the news people are taking every word in Kay's report as truth?
Why should they? Everybody seem to know that pre-war intelligence was skewed badly but they seem to be taking Kay's report without any critical analysis at all.
Remember this report has been circulated mong various agencies and staff for about two weeks. Did it get the same treatment as the State of the Union Address? Who "independently vetted" this report?
What do we know about the viles of bio agents supposedly discovered in an Iraqi Scientists house? How long had they been there? When were they last cultured? Under whose orders? Were they the same as the centrifuge parts buried under the rose bushes?
The labs at the prisons supposedly used to test bio/chem agents on prisoners....when? By whom?
The artillery shells that may or may not contain chem warheads? Mixed with nonchem shells? How old? From the Iran/Iraq war? Still viable?
We couldn't trust these bastards to tell the truth before the war, what makes any of us think they are telling the truth now?

1. They wouldnt know the truth |

if it climbed up on their nose and took a shit.
They are still claiming that marijuana is addictive and causes brain damage.
Truth is not in their collection of tools.

First of all David Kay cannot be trusted himself. He is part of the Bush Kabal thugs. He is one of them. As a matter of fact, he was kicked off the UN inspection team for unethical behavior....Bush could not find anyone better than Kay? They did not want to. He was perfect for this job. It bothers me too that the media and the dems are just taking his word for it. This is what happened before the war and it's happening all over again people. I don't trust Kay....he has shown in the past to be a right wing hack. He proved that during the war doing commentary for NBC. I wish and hope some dem and perhaps the so called "liberal" media will question and demand proof for whatever Kay comes up with....wishful thinking on my part.

3. But have you heard the Bush spin? |

Chimpy is saying that Kay's report has info in it that "proves" Saddam was "Deceiving the World" about his WMD IOW, bluffing. and that Saddam was a "Clear danger to the World"...
Fine, so basically, we blew up Iraq and had hundreds of US soldiers and THOUSANDS of Iraqis die because Saddam was "guilty" of "False Reporting", which at worst is a misdemeanor....
Just heard that on NPR. They played the sound bite, then trotted out the "Bush Fellatio Squad" to explain why we had to take Saddam out for False Reporting....
I would have a SHRED of respect for The Chimp perhaps, if he would just come out and say "Look, the bastard tried to kill my dad, and he has a LOT of Oil that Dick's buddies want to get their claws into, and I needed something to keep your minds and attention off how my administration is stretching Murka out on top o' a pinball machine like Jodi Foster in that movie Pickles won't let me watch anymore...."

Plain and simple, It is so easy to shake down the american treasury for hundreds of millions of dollars, why not continue this charade until it is necessary to produce results.
Look, if you could scam the taxpayers for a Billion dollars and turn up WMD's when most useful to your bosses, wouldn't that be your plan.
Most people are not aware of the timing that would benefit this administration the most. WMD's need to be found in June of 2004 so that political ads can tout the "see we told you" attitude. Those same ads might not be effective if WMD's were found today, they would get lost in the cloud of other issues by Nov 2004. I would expect Kay to find stuff that would indicate Iraq was to supply nasty stuff to AL-Quada and it was to be used on American soil.
Would you expect anything less.
That's why republicans want a liberal dem nominee for president, someone they can claim, would not have gone into IRAQ, and therefore would not have saved americans.

5. I suspect you're right about this: |

But that being the case, somebody had damned well better expose the interim lying that's being done now! We can't let the repubs use this interim report as a stepping stone for the event you predict (rightly I think) above.

6. News people took Kay's word as the truth? |
|
NO!!! Say it ain't so!
Next, you'll be telling me that they took bu$h at his word during the State of the Union address.
And then I guess you'll expect me to believe that not one of the news people challenged the Regime when it tried to connect Saddam with the 9/11 attacks, huh!
Kill your TV before it kills you, :argh: dbt
