2. Perhaps this decision will sway the other justices |
|
when it comes to voting on those all important decisions. Perhaps they will feel the anger and turn on Bush and the republicans. Lesser things have been known to piss people off....

to say the American public knows and supports Roberts. WTF? The man was a mid/upper level lawyer for Reagan that continually took the hard right viewpoint, was Rehnquist's clerk, and a judge for 2 years. They won't release all his government papers or make any attempt to hold him to any reasonable standards on his available work product. Scalia might be pissed, but the rest of us should be livid! They are trying to muscle through a stealth nominee while winking at their base that he's 'one of us'. This whole thing reeks.

4. No Scalia knows he will be running things behind the scenes. |
|
It would be fluke of the universe, though, if Roberts turned bit the hand that fed him. Hope against hope. Maybe some kind of Epiphany will happen.

5. This is FILIBUSTER material ... |
|
This is a good reason to filibuster the appointment. And perhaps that is what Bush WANTS.
If the Dems FILIBUSTER Roberts, it will give him an excuse to appoint someone MUCH NASTIER. Namely, he would appoint Justice Thomas.
Personally, I think the President appointing the chief justice is LUDICROUS!!! The justices themselves should ELECT the chief juror after every appointment.
