This is scary. Katrina has shown us that we are not prepared for anything |
|
EXCEPT bombing and invading defenseless countries. However, we are not very good at "occupying" those countries we invade...and now you know why.

2. No, we are not. Now we know why they told us to get duct tape. |
|
It's the only plan they got.

It's really frightening, isn't it, the significance of the duct tape comment, in retrospect. We really are on our own, except for the compassion of fellow citizens.

will last well into the forseeable future, this is the KEY issue coming out of this fiasco
it's been said before here, but should be made THE key issue for the spineless ones who lead our party:
we ARE MUCH LESS SAFE now than we were before the criminally negligent gang took over
the pugs have made a LIVING since the end of WWII denigrating the dems' inability to provide nationa security
it's the PUGs' turn now, cause they've proved in no uncertain terms that they have neither the inclination, or the ability to function at the simplest levels of competence

If the Dems can't get out there and tell people that disasters like this is when we most need effective government then they do not deserve to be a major party anymore.
If they can't articulate this clearly, then they deserve to lose.
It's a simple message, really: "We can do better."
Honestly, I could do better.

6. Katrina has showed that we are not prepared.. |

to take care of the poor in times of tragedy. As the NO mayor said, if this had occurred in Orange Co., California, the federal response would have been a lot different.

7. Caller on Randi pretty much said the same thing and he voted for |
|
Pinhead twice. He said he wishes he could take back his vote. Pretty emotional telling how he and his wife were in NO on Sat. Managed to get a $200 taxi ride to Baton Rouge( I think he said). Called Pinhead a coward! Said he did nothing, could have had sorties? fly supplies into those stranded and DID NOTHING! Randi brought up what bush did on 9/11, sitting in a class room reading for 20 minutes. The caller said she was right but that he didn't want to believe that Pinhead was a coward on that day! The guy's voice was shaking with anger! He apologized to Randi for screaming. :-) It was a great call! I think Pinhead fucked up majorly on this one!

10. Yes -- this is one of THE messages of Katrina |
|
We need to have PROFESSIONALS and not political hacks in disaster aid/recover/help/assistance jobs is another lesson from Katrina.
