If not now when? The time to point fingers is now before any more |
|
lives are endangered or more suffering take place. The Bu$h Administration keeps telling everyone that now is not the time to point fingers yet each day there are more stories of human suffering caused by the incompetence of the Federal Government or one of its agencies. If we wait one more day to find out where the system is failing us, we are putting more Americans at risk of falling victim to the failure of the US Government. I say it time for George W. Bu$h to stop covering his ass and come clean with the American people and accept the fact that he is a failure as President.
If not NOW, When George? When will you come clean?

5. I agree, this calls for something different this time, fight them hit them |
|
hard and start now and also use the 2006 campaign to lay out what we are gonna do as Democrats that will fix this. Also talk about the innate differences, one leading to death and hopelessness, filled with hypocrisy-- the Republican way-- and one leading to a better more efficient, caring response that will be required under law with failures or negligence being penalized by prosecution (our way)!

3. If the Democrats were in charge.. |

you can bet there would be plenty of "blaming" from the repugs. It's so funny to listen to Scotty McTalking Point and shrub and all the other administration robots spew the same lines: "not going to play the blame game", "find out what went right and what went wrong", etc. Can you imagine if a Dem was president right now! Repugs would be foaming at the mouth demanding heads roll and calling for impeachment.

4. We're not even at the peak of hurricane season yet... |

The Blame Game™ needs to start now before any more lives are lost!!!! And, god forbid, if a major earthquake hits, or a terrorist attack involving a WMD happens, will they be able to respond more effectively than in the aftermath of Katrina? I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to take that bet!

I just saw Miles O'Brien interview Hillary Clinton on CNN. She said that she had always had doubts about FEMA being under Homeland Insecurity and that this is proof that it didn't work!
She also said that there should be an independent commission to see why it failed. She said it's not a good idea for the govt to investigate itself. And the nice part about an independent commission is that it can be done at any time.........even now!!
She also said that when Bush declared a state of emergency and declared it to be a disaster on 8/27/05, that he also assured these people that FEMA would have a leading role regarding aid and recovery.
Once again, they screwed up! Do these guys know how to anything right?
There was another interesting interview right after that. O'Brien interviewed 3 teen agers who went into New Orleans 2 days after the hurricane. They said they had gotten some kind of forged press passes so they could get into the city. They said they didn't have any problem getting in! In fact, they said as they were driving into NO, they saw many yellow school buses leaving NO..........and, get this, every single bus was empty!!!! They even have video footage of the buses leaving!!!
The question is, why were the buses leaving empty? There were many, many people who were desperate to leave and yet there was bus after bus leaving empty!!! Why?

I am tired of people telling our side to stop criticizing. I don't want something like this to happen again. And this has gone beyond partisan politics to me. If a Democrat did this, I would want them gone too. So if any Republican tries to tell me that I am only angry because I want the Democrats back in power, I will punch them! Bush is a bad President, period. I want him & the other neocons *gone*!
