Another Reason to Boycott Walgreens |
|
I have a young cousin living outside of NO. Her home was damaged, but not flooded. She cannot live in it. She was told if she doesn't come to work, Walgreens will see that her Pharmacy license is not renewed! I don't know if that is possible, but the poor kid is having to leave her husband and baby (who are being sheltered in Dallas right now) to go to work.
How outrageous is this?

1. I would plea to the management above the store level....... |
|
and besides, there are tons of other Drugstore Chains and Walgreens to work for....they have more stores than Wal Mart.

6. I'd go up the chain of management, too |
|
And, as a last resort, ask them how it would look for Walgreens when this outrage ended up on the nightly news and in the newspapers?
It's ridiculous! They can't need pharmacists badly enough to act this way. How many Walgreens stores in LA, MS, and AL are closed due to Katrina? Are all of those pharmacists being threatened in order to make them work?

Send some letters to higher-ups at Walgreens about this. This sounds like a lower level manager going crazy. He should be slapped around by higher-ups.

3. Walgreens, like all pharmacy chains, is constantly trying to find |
|
pharmacists and retain them. The CEO and president of the company are former pharmacists. I think you're right, this is just a really stressed manager. On what grounds could he even touch her license? Tell him to provide hotel rooms for the whole family.

5. Will they provide housing for her? |
|
It seems to me that people need to have perscriptions filled. If she is needed so badly by the store then housing should be provided.

7. They are going to put her in a trailer. |
|
The issue for her is she has a small baby and she doesn't want to have him in the area right now. And I can't blame her hearing about all the disease.

8. She has to do whats best for her child. |
|
Walgreens can't do anything to her license, she is a trained pharmacist and would be able to get a job in any drug store.
