8. Even if he does, this would be an insensitive topic to bring up.
People who suffer from mental illnesses are not to be made fun of. That's what Republicans and other scum do.

10. I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF HIM. I AM ASKING A SERIOUS QUESTION.

A MOOD DISORDER ILLNESS DERAILED THE PRESIDENCY BID OF A PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER (CAN'T REMEMBER HIS NAME RIGHT NOW) FROM MO. BACK IN THE EARLY 1970s ...

and, if john roberts does suffer from a mood disorder, i think that would work against his supreme court nomination.

edited to add:

i just remember the name of the democratic nominee whose bid for the presidency was derailed because of his mood disorder:
EAGLETON, i believe it was.

i remember that convention... shirley chilsom was part of it, barbara Jordan was too... it was so exhilarating to hear them !!!! where people thought i was crazy because i was rooting for shirley chilsom.

12. whatever he's doing
it looks like Sandra is onto him *heehee* -- ever notice that intelligent people look so fierce next to vacuous ones? We've been so overwhelmed with image-only spokesmodels in this administration... I think he's trying to figure out how to look sad, since he's at a funeral.
peace

16. He is showing his emotion about the death of Rehnquist.
I imagine it's actually genuine, since he clerked for Rehnquist and apparently considered him to be a mentor.

Now what that says about his judicial philosophy is another matter.

19. my only problem with that is that he had the exactly same expression on
his face when he was standing next to bush, his wife and kids, when bush nominated him for sandra day o'connor's post at the supreme court. there is something plastic and deeply disturbing to me about that face.
