Greg Palast uncovers real story of Calif recall.
It comes back to Enron again!

"It's not what Arnold Schwarzenegger did to the girls a decade back that should raise an eyebrow. According to a series of memoranda our office obtained today, it's his dalliance with the boys in a hotel room just two years ago that's the real scandal.

The wannabe governor has yet to deny that on May 17, 2001, at the Peninsula Hotel in Los Angeles, he had consensual political intercourse with Enron chieftain Kenneth Lay. Also frolicking with Arnold and Ken was convicted stock swindler Mike Milken."

It's a plan by Bushco to get a lawsuite stopped against Enron for stealing from California during the energy crisis.

5. tomorrow would be good. Hell, anytime is good
I'm living in California watching the "Arnold Juggernaut" was touted by the local news channel just now tell me now it's just completely inevitable that Arnold's gonna roll into the governor's seat.

It has that same weird feeling that the media had before the war. When we all sensed that the media was making the war happen. They wanted it, they welcomed it.

It's the same way with Arnold. It's disgusting.

12. I've seen that same sentiment expressed on other threads
That the media out there is portraying this as a foregone conclusion. One poster gave an account of a rousing arnold protest they had been to in LA and the account on the news showed interviews of arnold supporters discussing it instead of focusing on the protest.

Yeah, I remember that "Countdown to War" coverage, and how unbelievable that was that the media wasn't reporting half the facts. I knew, we knew that war was going to happen come hel or high water, no matter what came down with the UN or the vote in Congress. Pretty helpless feeling.

I bet all those Californians excited about saving a few bucks when Arnold repeals the gas tax won't be too happy when they find out he wants to give away 8 billion dollars of their money.

7. Wow...
...isn't this somewhat akin to giving your daughter away in marriage to the man who raped and murdered your wife? Let's give the governorship to a guy that actually worked with the guys that were DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for CA current fiscal woes, presumably the reason FOR the recall...ok, that makes sense...

Check out this story from yesterday, in which Arnold finally admits to the meeting, but then lies about the number of attendees!

10. Now, this is the sort of stuff we should be making an issue out of.
Arnold is the front man for Pete Wilson, the man that made deregulation a household name in California, and it is this symbiotic relationship that should be the primary issue in this campaign.

11. Wow - this is the big story!
I always wondered why this story of the Recource attack on California was never done justice.

Davis never ot the story out that California was attacked. He didn't even get much money back.

Now Kenney Boy, who never paid for his other crimes is trying to keep all the ill gotten booty.

14. Now this is INTERESTING.
(snip) Now, thirty-four pages of internal Enron memoranda have just come through this reporter's fax machine tell all about the tryst between Maria's husband and the corporate con men. It turns out that Schwarzenegger knowingly joined the hush-hush encounter as part of a campaign to sabotage a Davis-Bustamante plan to make Enron and other power pirates then ravaging California pay back the $9 billion in illicit profits they carried off.

Here's the story Arnold doesn't want you to hear. The biggest single threat to Ken Lay and the electricity lords is a private lawsuit filed last year under California's unique Civil Code provision 17200, the "Unfair Business Practices Act." This litigation, heading to trial now in Los Angeles, would make the power companies return the $9 billion they filched from California electricity and gas customers.

It takes real cojones to bring such a suit. Who's the plaintiff taking on the bad guys? Cruz Bustamante, Lieutenant Governor and reluctant leading candidate against Schwarzenegger. (snip/...)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope justice prevails here, for a change!
in Florida. Up to a week before the election McBride was ahead or at the least even with Jeb in the polls. Then for no apparent reason, Jeb suddenly had a huge lead. Damn, they're doing it again.
than invading Iraq before the inspections were finished. Why had the Pretzel-Dunce been in such a hurry? It finally became clear: it was because he knew that no weapons would found, and with no weapons, there's no invasion, no oil, and no Mideast military foothold.
With the California recall, I went through the same thing: "Why Arnold????" The recall was obviously a GOP power grab. But if they're convinced that Gray Davis is doing such an awful job that he has to be replaced prematurely, why replace him with a total neophyte when they had a "real" GOP candidate in Tom McClintock? Sure, I'd heard a little something about Arnold meeting with Ken Lay, but why in the world would he have done that?
The only thing I knew is that it didn't add up--until now. I just hope that there's enough time for Californians to get word. Oh, and thanks for the calculator, Greg Palast!
28. OK, here's a question.
Palast and a couple of other jounalists who talked about this meeting made it sound like there were 3 people there; Ah-nold, Lay and Milken. The idea that some conspiracy was being hatched is plausible, even likely, under those circumstances. Why else would Ah-nold be invited to such a meeting?
But Ah-nold's response when questioned was that there were some 30 people there and he never remembered who Lay was - much less meet with him at that meeting.
Wouldn't some LA Times reporter be able to sort this out? Why has no one done that? Or did I miss a link?
So, the contention is that at this meeting - Ah-nold and Kenny Boy and Milken? got together and hatched the re-call strategy to protect Enron from Davis and Bustamate's law suit?
32. Why doesn't someone ask Ah-nold . .
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 11:00 AM by msmcghee
. . if he supports the attempts by Bustamante to get back the $9 billion for the state of California - and if he'd put "in writing" that he'll do everything in his power to help the state recoup that money - and do nothing to impede that effort?
Come to think of it . . . why hasn't he come out and stated this on his own?
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 11:13 AM by msmcghee
. . about his faith in God. Like how he has been teaching Sunday school classes in his local church all these years. How about a real testament as to the power of the Lord in Ah-nold's life?
Naturally, I don't give a crap about his answer - other than as a way to point out the incredible hypocracy of the pukes in this recall.
