What "Time" article left out about Brown's Padded Resume!
FEMA's Brown padded resume: hardly a lawyer, either

When Brown left the iaha four years ago, he was, among other things, a failed former lawyer--a man with a 20-year-old degree from a semi-accredited law school who hadn't attempted to practice law in a serious way in nearly 15 years and who had just been forced out of his job in the wake of charges of impropriety. At this point in his life, returning to his long-abandoned legal career would have been very difficult in the competitive Colorado legal market. Yet, within months of leaving the IAHA , he was handed one of the top legal positions in the entire federal government: general counsel for a major federal agency. A year later, he was made its number-two official, and, a year after that, Bush appointed him director of FEMA.

It's bad enough when attorneys are named to government jobs for which their careers, no matter how distinguished, don't qualify them. But Brown wasn't a distinguished lawyer: He was hardly a lawyer at all. When he left the IAHA , he was a 47-year-old with a very thin resumé and no job. Yet he was also what's known in the Mafia as a "connected guy." That such a person could end up in one of the federal government's most important positions tells you all you need to know about how the Bush administration works--or, rather, doesn't.

Once again, this has always been a story about cronyism, and the human lives it may have cost. And now we know that not only did Brown lack the qualifications to lead FEMA, he also lacked the legal qualifications to serve as its general counsel, his first position at the agency. It's not just Brown who should be fired... it's the incompetent president who appointed him.

2. What's worrysome is why "Time" left this out of their article.
Maybe they felt others would pick up on it.

7. Could be Time didn't want to get into...
... issues of degree. If, in those nether years when Brown didn't have much of a practice, if he maintained his standing with the bar in the states in which he practiced, he remained qualified--even if he wasn't a very good or very active lawyer.

Of course, this makes me wonder--if he was working as a government lawyer for FEMA, is he a member of good standing of the bar in DC?

3. His resume is up to par with Bush's
Bush failed at everything he ever did too and was the Governor of a state where the Lt. Governor actually has more power in many areas. No wonder the Chimp and Brownie get along so well, they are cut from the same cloth.

5. also missed: IAHA was NOT in any way a partof the IOCC
(In'tl olympic comm.), as it states on his "officia" WH bio.

He was let go from IAHA for fundraising from IAHA's members, etc., to pay his own legal bills, when the IAHA had indemnified him and were paying them.

Q: Why do you feel that prior to his resignation, Mr. Brown repeatedly stated that he does “not have the support of the Executive Committee”?

A: ... However, information that came to light at the August Board meeting — the revelation that Brown had set up his own legal defense fund — severely eroded that support. This revelation created the appearance of impropriety, especially when he’d been saying that he had commitments of a great deal of money for IAHA’s Legal Defense Fund which never materialized, and then it turned out he’d been out soliciting funds for his own, personal, legal defense fund.
Mr. Brown has been defended by IAHA to the fullest degree all the way along. At the August Board Meeting when this all came to light, he said that he felt the need to set up his own legal defense fund to protect the assets of his family. Yet IAHA has been paying all of his legal bills. We have paid for the attorney he chose to use, and he’s never been refused coverage, so we don’t know why he felt he needed further protection. Furthermore, IAHA indemnified him, meaning that we hold him harmless for whatever he does as he functions in his job.
