Confused. Are they or are they not enforcing |

an evacuation of N.O. .....reading the papers today and seeing the "news" tonight it seems like they are getting things back to "normal"...did I miss something? was my afternoon nap a bit longer than usual?

they are suggesting & using all powers of persuasion to get ppl to leave but ppl are not being taken out at gunpoint
however if you do leave orleans & don't have a valid license to get back in, it could be awhile before you're allowed to return

3. Saw a bit on MSNBC early today |

They talked to a group of people in a small neighborhood that did not flood. They have running water and working phones as of today. They cook out together twice a day and seem happy and somewhat comfortable. They all say the cops and NG have come by telling them to leave. They fear losing their homes. They claim the NG joked about fitting them for body bags! One guy said he knows when it comes to body bags, one size fits all! Another said, go ahead, we're all gonna need one eventually...
These people had spirit and attitude to burn. They WILL NOT leave.
It's pretty obvious what is going on here... Will they call it the War on Poverty???
