Public Works initiative for NOLA and incentive to get folks home |
|
Why do the Bush bastards get to choose who rebuilds what? All these fast track no-bid contracts to their cronies.
Why can't the Louisiana State government in Baton Rouge announce a Public Works initiative instead? They could contract their own companies, and offer the newly unemployed of New Orleans jobs to rebuild their city...it'd also give a big incentive to those displaced New Orleans folks to RETURN to their home state of Louisiana.
What have the Bush bastards BANNED them from returning, is that why they're in Alaska, Indiana, Iowa, Utah etc...because the Bush bastards NEVER want those New Orleans folks EVER voting in an election in Louisiana EVER AGAIN?
Jaysus, if I were in charge of the Baton Rouge government, I'd offer my displaced citizens a FREE one-way plane OR bus ticket back home for any of them that wanted to return. The state could easily house 400,000 of them in other cities in La. say 25,000 sent to various cities and large towns around the state.

Baton Rouge should STILL do it...considering NOLA is in THEIR state...hey, ya Bush bastards, REMEMBER States Rights?
Those displaced people are citizens of the State of Louisiana.

2. Provide Federal Rebuilding Jobs for The Survivors Now. |
|
When Pres. G.H.W. Bush called for 1,000 points of light volunteerism it signaled a shift of responsibility for managing social well being from the federal government to the private sector, by the conservative right wing think tank elite.
Many have since vocally, and fashionably, decried welfare and welfare programs.
In keeping with the propaganda that has shifted responsibility away from government to private agencies I heard a highly paid Red Cross Executive say today that they will need 40,000 volunteers, whom they will train, and who will be deployed for three week stints to aid in the recovery from this national emergency.
How about paying jobs for the survivors, instead?
I suggest a plan to combine the best of both worlds.Hire, train, house, and pay the survivors of Katrina who are scattered all over the nation in this true diaspora. Rather than warehousing people in many states and shelters give them jobs!
Jobs and work restore a sense of dignity and self worth, is the anti-thesis of welfare, and elevates self worth at a time when being with out a home and work is devastating.
Here is how it could go:
1.) Military erects tent cities, in La. And Miss. 2.) Strict separation of male/female quarters. 3.) Hire able bodied men and women survivors of the disaster. 4.) Bring them back to La. And Miss. 5.) Train them- via the Red Cross Training program in place now. 6.) Put them to work, give them jobs, provide fair wages and let them take the place of volunteers from all over the world and the nation. 7.) Provide the dignity of work and a pay check. 8.) Provide the opportunity to rebuild their own communities. 9.) Federally funded payroll.
Feed back?

4. Separation of males and females |

Not sure that'd work mon amie.
The rest of your plan sounds fine, except I'd prefer if the military were kept out of the equation...unless it was the Louisiana National Guard putting up those tents with the help of say Habitat For Humanity.

6. The media scum are NOT even mentioning the La. State fund |
|
It's all Red Cross, Salvation Army etc. It's deliberate, because the media know WHY that state fund was started, to retain independence.
Have I said how much I hate them yet?
I hope everybody and anybody gives money to the La. State fund, it goes STRAIGHT to the state to help with their people.

8. I printed the info. from here, and handed it out. People are really |
|
skeptical about the Red Cross, etc., they are very responsive to the LA State fund. Just print the page, photocopy it, and get people interested, they finally feel they have a way to support the people of NOLA, not the high priced disaster agency personnel.

7. Then they shouldn't have turned down voluntary help. |
|
And separating married couples is not something you ever want to try.
Savonarola did it. It's not why the Borgia pope excommunicated, hanged and burned him, however. That had more to do with an insensitive note.
