Freep: "..fat black folks vigorously complaining about their treatment"
If you've watched the news this morning, you have seen the start of what will be a roar in several weeks, the complaints of the refugees. There were a number of fat black folks vigorously complaining about their treatment, having to wait to be serviced, out of money and changes in policy.
The media will be hard pressed to decide. On one hand the imperial tine of unemployed black demanders reflects negatively of the beneficiaries of public good will. On the other hand, each loud black complaint can be said to be a criticism of the administration. What's an extremist left-wing media to do?

These people will be a terrible burden on us all. They were dumb enough to live in a high risk area and dumb enough to stay to engage in the looting and now we have to cater to their every whim forever. What do they think we are, democrats?

2. yeah. And since people like this freak see black people as "the other"
he can't even imagine that some people might have some EMPATHY for these people, no matter how much they way or how uncomfortable their speaking out might make them.

5. These are the people that will continue to support Bush no matter what.
And it's sad, but we aren't going to change the minds of racist individuals like this.

7. I'm thinking these people's stories will make Cindy Sheehan's
complaints look like nothing in a matter of a few weeks... FEMA's victims, their stories broadcast on local media across the nation, esp. where they've spread to, will bring down the House of Bush. Mark my words and take them to the bank.

9. Another gem from that thread
Ok, I'm eaten up by cynicism. Here's the straight skinny, which might get this post pulled or my account banned. MOST (not all) of the evacuees have already shown a lack of good sense by not evacuating ahead of the storm, by being on welfare instead of working at a job, by abusing drugs and alcohol, by having children out of wedlock, by being caught on camera looting and pillaging. People who have displayed bad--no, make that ROTTEN--judgment in the past will not have the good sense to use it now.

A huge number of the evacuees have been jailed in the communities that took them in for everything from rape to robbery to drugs. To expect them to use these debit cards wisely is a severe error in judgement on the part of the Red Cross.

Hope this makes you feel better.
