Remember Edwards talking about two Americas?
This LTTE reminds us of that.

Looking at the federal government’s response to the disaster in New Orleans, I’m reminded of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. While on his tour of the disaster area, President Bush was quoted as saying: “We’re going to help these communities rebuild. ... Out of the rubble of Trent Lott’s house — he’s lost his entire house — there’s going to be a fantastic house. And I’m looking forward to sitting on the porch.”

Trent Lott? What about the thousands stranded at the Superdome?

Thousands waited at the Superdome for days without adequate food or water, or working toilets, wearing clothes they waded through dirty water in, and 700 people show up from the Hyatt in clean dry clothes with their luggage and are put on buses immediately and evacuated. Hundreds of ill people, some on manual ventilators, waited at Charity Hospital for evacuation while helicopters evacuated doctors and nurses next door at Tulane University. Shame on America!

During the last presidential campaign, John Edwards talked about the two Americas, and the Republicans accused him of race-baiting while they talked about their values. For those who have watched this disaster unfold on TV, I think we now know what Edwards was talking about.

1. This is exactly what he was talking about.
That has been going through my head ever since this started.

2. Yep...I remember.
I guess the whole world got to see the "other America" and how we treat them.

I LOVE John Edwards.
