I don't want Bush impeached.
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 03:46 PM by Blue_Roses
That means we would be stuck with Cheney:crazy: which would be a nightmare to watch during press conferences. At least with Bush's bumbling words we can always depend on a laugh and a :wtf: did he just say.

3. If there is a fair and just investigation into the impeachment
of Bush, trust me Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condi et. al. aren't going to make it either. They will all come crashing down together, just Nixon's cabal did.

22. Nope.
As long as Republicans are in control of Congress, there will be no investigation or accountability of the Bush administration. The only circumstance under which the Bush administration would be held responsible is if there is a Democratic Congress in 2007. In that case, we'd be looking at President Pelosi, not President Hastert.

But it's all just a pipe dream, anyway. Bush will finish his term and go on to work for Carlyle Group, just like dear ol' dad.

24. Maybe, maybe not and even if it did, he would be
without a "mandate" and not much use to the Repubs as a tool anymore. Anyone who replaces Bush will know that the same thing could happen to him and he will proceed with more caution than this administration unless he is a bigger fool than * and Hastert doesn't strike me as being that stupid. If we don't take Bush down, it only announces to the rest of the neo-cons that they can get away with murder.

11. Impeach them both
It can be done. Impeach Bush and Cheney after the 06 elections (when I hope the dems will be the majority and which is realistically the only time we could start impeachment) and have Speaker Nancy Pelosi ready to be Prez after they are both convicted and removed from ofice. Of course, I think Bush would probably have Cheney try to resign and have him replaced by a new vp. Still, it's a nice fantasy.

14. Impeach them both: We'd get an impotent Hastert
Who would have no real power. No repuke agenda would see the light of day. Yeah, Hastert would be in power, but he'd be the weakest pres this country has ever seen.

32. Hastert getting it depends on four things...
(presuming Bush and Chenery are out)

1) Bush or Cheney don't find a way of selecting another person to replace themselves (like Ford was brought in during Nixon's times) when they resign.
2) Hastert himself isn't drummed out on corruptions charges brought to light by Vanity Fair article on Sibel Edmonds
3) How soon this impeachment is done (before or after new congress takes session after 2006 elections)
4) If the Dems take the house in 2006. Depending on the answers to 1 and 3, Nancy Pelosi might be the new president.

15. Impeachment is not removal
From Wikipedia:

"Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body formally levels charges against a high official of government. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office; it comprises only a formal statement of charges, akin to an indictment in criminal law, and thus is only the first step towards possible removal. Once an individual is impeached, he or she must then face the possibility of conviction via legislative vote, which then entails the removal of the individual from office."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment

I'm finding myself using Wikipedia more and more, for political and technical information. I think it has reached a point of critical mass for my uses.

It's been said that if anything happened to Cheney, then bush gets to be president of the US.

Cheney has to go right along with bush.

to say FUCK IT I want Bush to continue to serve his term is a little too soft for me, I believe if Bush goes Cheney (If he doesnt decide to resign) will tread his very short term lightly and so will the rest of the RW nuts in the party, you can't ignore that it will be a major blow. :S

25. Find the keystone
and this whole mess comes tubling down, we need to get snarlin dick in our sites, but I have the feeling he's in plamegate up to his ass and it will swallow him up.
Then we get rid of the chimp*, delay has his own troubles and it soon will be in vogue to bring down power mad reptiles.
So, even if we are stuck with hastert, he's only a seat warmer until 08.
The scary scenario is chaindrive inpeached, removed, retired, or dead from a massive heart attack then babs slaps jr* around again so he names jebby for vp, then we have a whole other can of worms.

27. The repuke party would be in shambles
If the assholes are impeached and removed, the repuke party would be given a crippling blow...if not a fatal one. I don't care what repuke is held up for '08, I don't see how any of them could come back from it.

30. This sentiment always puzzles me.
Is there any who really believes that bush* is actually making any decisions? Bush is a propped-up figure head just like the ones that the cabal installs in other nations that they overtake economically.

If we oust him, it greatly weakens the entire republican party.

And please don't forget the impending indictments. If dick is named as an un-indicted co-conspirator, I see him as being ousted as well.
As for any of the knuckle-heads that are left, they will have very little power.

I agree, he is propped up and when he was asked to run for President in 2000, he and Karen Hughes looked at each other and laughed.(this from Karen Hughes during an interview), so I don't see it weakening the party. The anger would energize it.

I like what Fitzpatrick is doing, 'cause we have no idea what that is. Sometimes the best "impeachment" is done quietly.
