Someone was talking about a property sales frenzy in NOLA going |
|
on right now. Is this true? How can it be with documents hard to get to and most folks away or preoccupied with tragedy?

2. I have heard that property in Baton Rouge is being snapped up. |
|
Are you sure you heard New Orleans?
What realtors are there? What title companies? Banks? City records people? Maybe people could make a N.O. deal with a handshake, but I would doubt they could make a legal sale and get it recorded and all with current conditions.

4. I think the frenzy is in residential sales in outlying, undamaged areas. |

Housing for all the displaced, you know.

Property sales in Lafayette and Baton Rouge are escalating. Also because a lot of oil business will be done in Lafayette, as it was in the 70's and 80's. Our real estate market was escalating before the storm and even more so now. We are also close to Morgan City and the Intercoastal Canal. Word is that a lot of very expensive property is being bought here very quickly. Interesting times, and scary times.

5. The futures on that began when it the hurricane made that impressive... |
|
....120 degree turn from north by northwest track to west by southwest track from just beyond the Bahamas and started back toward and across south Florida as a category one hurricane. Then like some colossal parting of the Red Sea biblical prophesy, Katrina began to gather strength to a near category five hurricane with winds in the 185mph range, it missed the Florida Keys and when some 100 miles directly above Key West made another spectacular swing due north and headed straight for New Orleans on August 24th or 25th. That was the clincher for most insider land trade speculators.
The insiders knew immediately that this would be the Christo-fascist-military-industrial complexes gift to Bush's base of select neo-conservative's worth hundreds of billions of dollars to those "in the know".
The only question that remained open was, do those militocrates let the high unpredictable winds kill 10's of thousands of innocent Americans across all political and economic bands of democrats, republicans, rich, poor.... or do the politocrats just allow floods to drown and isolate the helpless and un-missed poor from the inner city just be trapped a day later when they can't get away. Delay federal help and relief until 5the last possible moment, then rain down armed military with orders to shoot all looters without discrimination! Ahaa yes, a splendid scenario with still gambler's choices that appeal to the high rollers because even in high stacks gambling there has to be winners and losers and the pulse pounding thrill of the human stakes (see: early German film director, Fritz Lang's "Dr, Mabuse -- the Gambler", 1922).
Bingo, has it paid off or what! $250 billion and still growing and that is without accounting for human suffering and cost of lives. Who has benefited remains to be seen as the holders yet will gathering their winnings.
