Nagin and the Chimp photo op |
|
I just couldn't believe my eyes. I know Nagin is a FAKE democrat, and only became one to win an election. But after all the spin from Rove and the Bushies against him, HOW COULD HE DO A PHOTO OP with the CHIMP!. He needs to be voted out. The faces of the NYC firemen told it all. NONE of them were enthusiastic, they knew it was a photo op! Nagin is a loser and a disgrace, these of the kind of dems we DON'T need. Blanco was not there, and nor should she be seen with the CHIMP for a photo op.

1. Nagin has a job to do. He would eat a bus at this point if it gives |
|
him a chance to rebuild New Orleans. His job is to make sure that some of the rebuilding money goes to the city and what the city dreams for itself. He has no options at this point.
They have to work with Chimp the bully. So let Nagin do what he has to do. The people who need to look into what happened with Katrina are the experts and professionals at this point.
Oh and Welcome to the DU.

2. Don't forget Nagin's heartfelt tirade and tears. |
|
Regardless of his political proclivities, he clearly has a heart for the city. Smooching Bush ass may have more to do with PR on behalf of NO rather than any personal schmoozing.
Broussart really made an impact on MTP, and he too used much more toned-down language when speaking about the FEMA and Bush days later.
In positions of leadership, sometimes you've got to pose next to a poser.

4. Because Bush has him by the balls at the moment |
|
and if Nagin wants any help with the recovery phase of this disaster, he better say 'Yes, master' or more of his people will die has a result.
Besides it not the job of the Mayor or the Governor to take a stand against a sitting president. It is the job of Congress, the press and the chattering masses, ie you and me.
The mayor is still pulling bodies from the wreckage, give him a break and let him do his job. I am sure that none of it is pleasant.

5. Don't agree with ANY of you |
|
He can keep going in front of the media to EXPOSE these idiots that is fine...NO PHOTO OPS with the CHIMP....it is disgusting, let the chimp and Rover do that CRAP. On Olberman last night it was called for what it was..JUST A PHOTO OP...that will help NO ONE in NO, and won't help the dems.

6. The People Of NOLA Will Decide |
|
Those people know who left them on the roofs and screwed the over in their time of need. That's what counts.
Sadly Chimpster controls the checkbook with an iron fist. He's already issued the contracts to his buddies and screwed the workers with Davis-Bacon...what cards does Nagin have to play with now?
So, do you try to ignore the man who writes the check or do you suck up, do the photo-op, get the check and hope he goes away.
Think of it this way...after the trashing of Nagin last week by the wingnuts, now are they gonna do a 180 and think he's doing a good job? If so, we nail those bastards on their hypocrisy, yet again.

7. I understand your point. |
|
BUT at what point do you say "enough is enough" with the chimp and these disgraceful phot ops. The chimp wll have to write the check anyway, but to be seen shaking hands and smiling while people are suffering and an entire part of this country is destroyed, is NOT a good thing. These images will be etched in the minds of thinking people for a long time, and guaranteed they will be USED by the Rovites in the future, to show how "flip-floppy" the dems are. Mark my words...We ALL (dems) need to distance ourselves from the Bushies...By the way do you actually think the chimp is doing any of this to help ANYONE??? NOT!

8. The People Are Saying It |
|
And honestly, I couldn't give a ratsass about that POS loser anymore. There are far more dangerous people in that regime who work under the radar and the charade that is meester boosh.
However, a lot of people now see that. I continue to hear people ridicule his NOLA photo ops and how inept and stupid he is. Wonderful...it only took them 6 years longer to figure this out than I do...but better late than ever.
People are wise to the lies and photo-ops. They're starting to see the cronyism and ineptness. The slow flood of slime the corporate media has tried to hold back against this regime is starting to flood just like those NOLA levees.
Have patience, lies and rumors run around the world, while the truth is putting on its pants. Looks like people really want the truth now. The jingoism isn't holding water.
Remember, millions saw in horror in New Orleans and saw themselves on those roofs or stranded on those streets. They know who let those people down and who they can no longer trust for their security.
And don't forget, there WILL be an investigation of FEMA and all the cronyism I suspect will lead to criminal investigations that could be a storm this regime didn't expect.

9. I think Nagins political career is probably over |
|
It is an unfortunate thing that he was the mayor at when this happened and at the hands of the bu$h fuck up, he will be marked as the mayor of New Orleans during the mess that followed Katrina.
It does not matter that the Feds are the ones who screwed up, Nagin will pay a political price for this event. I don't think that he can be redeemed regardless of how well NOLA is rebuilt. At this point he has to kiss ass with everyone to get his city back and that includes the SOB who screwed the relief up in the first place, bu$h.

10. There's a mayoral election in NO in 6 months time. |
|
Will there be any voters there? How many whites & blacks, rich and poor, Republican and Democratic, women & men? How will they have an election? Does a minium of the popualtion have to be there? How many Republicans know that Nagin was a Republican and a * campaign contributor and a $400,000 Comcast cable executive?

11. Nagin has to pretty much fellate Bush on national TV |
|
so that the "city can be rebuilt" - especially since Repukes have decided that NO was a wash - and shouldn't be rebuilt . . .
