CNN: "Is Bush damage control working?" We must stop the whitewash |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 03:18 PM by Armstead
That is the quesation Jack Cafferty asked this hour, after Wolfie had an orgasim about the latest CNN Gallup poll showing Bush's popularity "Is UP, That's UP!"
Up to a whopping 42 percent.
If you get a chance, drop Cafferty a line about the answer. And in a larger sense, we have to pound away at the networks to remind them to keep their freshly thawed out hearts and brains to not fall back into the corporate deep freeze again.
We can't allow these folks to devolve back into their lazy, stenographer mode, and allow the GOP to make lemons out of lemonaid yet again.

How can people change their minds so fast over something such as a 9/11 ceremony or a Bush's third publicity visit to the Gulf? Is this proof a certain percentage of people here are the easily swayed kind? Read: are complete idiots?

3. Gallup usually is more pro-Bush than other polls |
|
Plus there area certain percentage of people who are swayed by whatever seems to be happening on a given day.
Plus, it shows the power of the media to shape perceptions. Now that the networks are in "good news" mode and going along with the "Bush is back in charge" script.

2. My email to Jack...rushed off |

The best way for President Bush to handle damage control at this point, in my book is to resign himself. He has done more damage by his actions (Iraq War) and inactions (Katrina) than any other President in our history. He played guitar and ate cake while New Orleans drowned. Our modern day Nero. BTW...My parents, both in their eighties has never seen a worse President in their lifetimes. Thank you for saying it the way it is Jack!

5. Actually, that's down. Last Gallup poll had approval @ 45. |
|
Can't compare Gallup to other polls (newsweek, time, etc.) they all have their own methodology.
And Gallup, a very conservative pollster, had Bush approval @ 45 during 8/28 - 8/30. So he actually lost 3% in less than two weeks.

6. Wolfe was doing some creative accounting |
|
He compared the latest Gallup poll to otehr polls. So it was up from those polls.

covering his own ass or protecting the american people. In their hearts people know the answer to this question - when it comes to their own survival and that of their family.
Sure - his Rovian spin machine will blunt the criticism, we should expect that, but if the Dems keep pounding home his failures, it will remind people of their own unease with this adminsitration.
Get out there Democratic politicians!!
