A vicious animal is most dangerous when cornered |
|
Perhaps the most dangerous sitution for the future of humanity is how Bush reacts right now.
They're cornered. All they have left are attacks.
Watch the nomination to replace O'Connor. The only thing Bush has left for any sort of lasting legacy is the court and possibly overturnning Roe.
He could even see it as his divine mission to insure Armageddon occurs on his watch, possibly blaming all of his present problems on his notion of some "anti-christ".
There has never been a more dangerous time in American history

6. oh heavens no, didn't you get the memo? |

Bush is going to give a speech tomorrow night, he'll say he loves poor people, that Jesus told us to care for poor people, that he's going to help poor people (he'll say poor but he'll want us to think black). That his plan is to help the poor by ______ (probably something about taking more power from the people, giving it to the feds or the churches, but it doesn't matter what he says because he has NO intention of doing anything that really might help the poor). Then he'll promptly ignore what he said, do nothing about it (he might do a power grab or give money to churches) but say "hey, I told you I was going to help the poor, I"m helping the poor, we are the helpers of the poor."
Just like he said/did about making us safer, ending abortion, passing an amendment to outlaw gay marriage, make the forests and skies cleaner...blah blah blah.
It's the only card he has left. He's never used it before so we don't know if Americans will buy it.
How in the hell do you think he's cornered? It's not like he's lost any power.
