Oooh...beautiful offshore winds in NC! Where's my board! |
|
CNN has vid of the surf off NC...the storm has shifted so that the winds are now offshore, creating beautiful, smooth, overhead barrels. MMMMMM. We don't get waves like that on the east coast too often!

2. Ever notice how those hurricanes always seem to |

head for the reporters standing on the beach?
Maybe we should gather the reporters all up at the beginning of hurricane season and put them someplace where the hurricane can do no lasting harm......say Crawford, Texas?

4. I lived on a barrier island much of my life |
|
Cocoa Beach, Florida. Very similar to the outer banks. It is a way of life most people can't relate to. We had Boston Whalers instead of bikes. Wore bathing suits to school. The only people living there who are afraid are the ones who just moved there from New York or Kansas.
The residents, the real locals, know what to do. They've either packed up and left, or barricaded themselves to ride it out. And some of their kids are out right now, getting some of those tubes. But they aren't getting upset because some guy is saying "Hey man! Great waves!"

5. If you can't understand my point.. |
|
ESPECIALLY after what just happened in NO there's no reason to discuss on any level.
While I understand the beauty of large waves to you I'd rather worry about loved ones I know there and if they'll have damage to property and risk to themselves.
Your timing sucks basically.

Now more than ever...lighten up a bit. Relax. We cannot control what the storm does, we can only watch and hope for the best.

7. Don't tell me to lighten up |
|
Seriously, I am worried about people in NC as others are.
So, you lighten up and try to understand where worried family and friends in the path of this hurricane are coming from.
To reply to me again with this dismissive bullshit *sigh* is ridiculous.
