The Sept. 7 edition of the Wilson Daily Times had a cartoon that was nearly bizarre in its illogic. Clearly it was trying to equate blaming Bush for much of the loss of life in Hurricane Katrina, the cost of the war in Iraq and gas prices, to blaming him for the fact a person gained weight.


Why, oh why would a person blame Bush for the aftermath of Katrina? Could it be the fact he appointed an incompetent hack to head FEMA?

Could it be that he cut funding for New Orleans' levees? Could it be that he stayed on vacation for three days as New Orleans was flooded? Could it be that a day after his incompetent FEMA head said he had no idea that people were stuck in the convention center despite the fact that every network repeatedly reported that fact, Bush said "Brownie is doing a good job"?
