Re: Bushbot on 'The View'
Since there are like sixty threads going on about this show (yeah, who'da thunkit?!)...

From www.abc.com

"...Quick to express her conservative views, Mrs. Hasselbeck has proven herself not only as a strong young woman, but someone who won't let her voice be compromised, making her the perfect addition to the show.

"She is formally known to television audiences as a participant on the wildly popular second edition of Survivor: The Australian Outback. While competing in Australia, Mrs. Hasselbeck used her competitive drive and survival skills to outwit her way to the final four.

"In August 2004, Mrs. Hasselbeck spoke at the Republican National Convention, where she delivered a heartfelt speech that emphasized her continued effort in support of Breast Cancer prevention and research. (snip)

"Mrs. Hasselbeck had previously exhibited her flair for fashion as host of the Style Network program, The Look for Less, where she helped viewers find designer styles at bargain prices. She has also hosted programs on MTV, as well as done commercial work for companies like Reebok, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble.

"A 1999 Fine Arts graduate from Boston College with a focus on large scale paintings and drawings, Mrs. Hasselbeck resides in New York City with her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, an NFL quarterback for the Washington Redskins. (snip)

"Prior to her work in television, Mrs. Hasselbeck designed shoes for PUMA, working on their street lifestyle line. She does not stray far from the world of industrial design and focuses her off-camera time on painting and developing her own accessories line. (snip)

"Mrs. Hasselbeck grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and is the daughter of Kenneth Filarski and Elisabeth DelPadre..." (snip)

:puke:

..............

Well, isn't that cute?

I know people like this. Obviously the high-end product of social promotion. Like her hero W, she obviously has NO CLUE what it's like NOT to have a good ole boys' network, connections, access to money, etc. How many people get fine arts degrees and a job designing athletic shoes? That's not even a logical progression! She doesn't have a fashion or design degree. She's a self-appointed fashion expert, by the looks of it (most of them are - and it's amusing that they think that we care).

I know people likw this. They can't understand why everyone can't go to an expensive East Coast private school, get a FAB job in the arts world immediately after college, etc., etc., etc. NO CONCEPT of hard work or sacrifice. NO IDEA that life isn't all peachy. No clue at all. Like I said, I know people who are like this. This is why I think everyone, in an ideal world, should have to work at least a YEAR in service (like as a maid, as a waitress, etc.).

Kudos to Barbara Walters for smacking her down from time to time. And to Joy Behar for looking like she is really about to smack her.

By the way, you can email her through the website. Ooh, I am bad.

22. That's not really fair
I know one of the former Dallas Cowboys and he met his wife while they were stuck in an airport.
She is a Pediatric Nurse, btw (which is the only reason I met him).
She is attractive, but she isn't stereotypical beautiful.
They are both very nice people.

he is currently on the NY Giants. His brother, however, might be the one you are thinking of on Denver.

(ETA: Nope, his bro is on Seattle.)

There is that stereotype, and there do seem to be a lot of of egomaniacal sports starts....

However, I sort of know-someone-who-knows-someone who knows a Dallas Cowboy, and he is actually a really great guy and married to a totally normal country girl.

They are both BC alumni. How do I know this? I am also a Boston College alum. (We tend to know who our alums are. We've also had a slew of reality show people from BC.)

Not Hooters.

Sorry, I don't like Bitsy, but they DID meet in college.

I prefer Star Jones by a long shot...and I can't stand Star Jones!

Elisabeth is the archetypical privileged little conservative white girl just working to "conserve" the status quo, which places her on top of the economic/social totem pole. She doesn't have a fucking CLUE. They should have left her in the backwoods of Australia.

6. This is my first post...
but I had to comment on this. I remember her talking about * being a 'busy guy' one time on The View. So when Katrina hit and he of course was otherwise "busy," I sent her an email to ask her how she felt about seeing all the babies and children suffering and dying. I sent this to her because she recently became a mom. Of course I never got a reply.

Texas A&M

I went to UT. (anyone see that Ohio State game?!)

I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to go to Texas A&M because it was just a MACROCOSM of my high school. Only with no black students. Or art department.

Ick.

Having said that, being a rabid Texas nationalist, I still root for A&M against out-of-state teams. Especially Oklahoma. haha

17. She designed shoes for the Street Lifestyle Line?
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 12:12 PM by Danmel
What would she know about life on the street? Pampered rich bitch. Makes me wanna sing this:

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And ask him do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things
But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

BTW, I wouldn't watch the View if you paid me too. Empty headed, stupid drivel.

18. RNC speech
Can be read in full at http://www.mintruth.com/wiki/index.php?Speech+made+by+Elisabeth+Hasselbeck+at+The+Republican+National+Convention

Excerpts:

"Thank you.

"It is an honor to be with you tonight.

"In a distant land, heroic men and women are risking their lives fighting for our freedom, our families, and our future -- and I deeply thank them, and their families, for their service.

"On American soil, heroic women are fighting a different battle a silent campaign for their freedom, their families, and their future. It is the fight against breast cancer.

"Nine years ago my mother was diagnosed with bilateral ductal carcinoma a serious form of breast cancer that moved to her lymph system. I watched her suffer through massive surgery, and then four rapid-fire, high-intensity chemotherapy treatments designed to bring her body to the brink of death..."

(snip)

"It spares no kind spirit, no beautiful face, no compassionate heart. It doesn't care about your age or race or if you can afford to pay the medical bills - we certainly couldn't."

(snip)

"Most importantly, help me re-elect a leader in the fight against breast cancer who does not simply wish this disease away he wills it away through action.

"President George W. Bush."

That's the last refuge of the freeper. I know people like this. It's always personal to them. You're not just disagreeing - You're picking on them. How dare you.

Funny, at various times in my life I've been the sole liberal amongst conservatives. I may or may not state my views but I cannot think of one time when I felt that I was being personally attacked simply because others didn't agree with me. That just shows the extent to which the cons play to the emotions and egos of their followers. The Republicans are the party of MEEEEEEEEEE!

27. I miss Lisa Ling
she was very smart and intellectually curious.

This little twit makes my skin crawl.

She's a total fundie. I remember her on Survivor reading her bible all the time. She's one of those ignorant types who thinks she is very religious, but has no compassion for other people.

She was being an idiot yesterday too talking about how everyone would just be dandy in life with proper parenting.... the others went on to address that some people don't have the fortune of having responsible parents and need a little help to get their feet off the ground , she just shrugged her shoulders and said well if they just became good parents the world would be perfect (her world is not flexible to see that not everyone has been blessed with the opportunities she has).

Oh, and don't even get me started on the time that she was sympathizing with the two "former homosexuals" that got cured from going to some type of God camp.

Thank God for Joy Baher! Love her

(sorry to rant, but because of my job I have to watch this show more than I'd like to)

This is the first time I saw this bimbo. She acted like a rabid dog toward Dean. It was as though Dean held a cross up to the devil.
I used to check out this show when I had the chance. Funny that I like it, but Mrs. Demonfighter can't stand them. I don't think she's really listened, but says that all they do is talk about tampons or some such feminine talk. Instead they really go after some topics and actually flesh a few things out.
