We were undefeated in our wars UNTIL we put "under God" in the Pledge.
What do you think about that?
On edit: Better wording

And since the borders remained where they were, and Canada is still around as a separate country...it weren't no stalemate. :7

24. Ah the spin, alas, I admit, I've been dazzled by it since childhood |
|
I think I finally shrugged it off during the 2000 election. that was my wakeup call.

We neither won nor lost the Korean War (police action). We signed a cease fire in 1953, the terms of which continue to guide the way we operate on the peninsula. "Under God" wasn't added until 1954.

9. Military Actions != War... |
|
Technically, those were not considered wars. And did we actually *win* the gulf war? It's still going on isn't it?

21. The Gulf War I is like WW I... |
|
In that the Gulf War II (ie the current invasion and occupation of Iraq) is a direct consequence of what was done and not done during and since the previous war, as was the case with WW II. (Had the Allies not destroyed the German economy with war reparations, Hitler would very likely not have risen to power. Without Hitler providing a distraction, it is unlikely that Japan would have been so nakedly ambitious in its own expansionism and thus would not have involved the US in the Pacific.)
So an argument can be made that there are two phases of a single Gulf War, rather than two separate wars.

I don't see how Vietnam and inserting "Under God" in the pledge have anything to do with each other.

It's crazy nonsense but that doesn't mean it isn't a great talking point for the reality impaired.
