... as though he's trying to realign and re-seat his dentures (but he doesn't HAVE dentures)... or like he's trying to equalize his inner-ear pressure (but he's not IN an airplane).

It's very noticible and very distracting. One starts to pay MORE attention to IT and trying to spot the NEXT one than what he's actually saying. (Not that he would say anything INTELLIGENT anyway.)

Others around here have speculated whether or not such a nervous tic is related to drug use, drug abuse, or long-time drug abuse (whether previous or current).

It does seem logical that someone with limited intelligence and a history of drug abuse (ie: a fried brain) might develop some sort of uncontrollable facial tic.
