1. You could, but....
you'd have to be among the world's dipshits who believe this "intelligent design" horseshit.

:dunce:

2. Actually, to be fair, this goes way beyond intelligent design...
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 06:32 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
This is the belief that dinosaurs were created 6000 years ago with humans.

Intelligent design believers don't buy that, or rather, not all of them do. Not the guy on Jon Stewart last night.

6. "The Critic" had a chilling look at what might have been...
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 06:40 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
(in Jurassic Park 2)
John Hammond: You may have us. But you'll never get off the island!
Raptor: I beg to differ. You see, the other Raptors and I have constructed a crude suspension bridge to Venezuela. Once there, I shall lie low and assume odd-jobs under the name "Mr Pilkington". But perhaps I've said too much...

12. Not ID. This is Kent Hovind.
He believes in the *literal* interpretation of the first two books of Genesis in the Holy Ba-ee-bil.

This guy is way, way out there. Can you say out-of-sight, batshit crazy? Sure you can.

Analysis of Kent Hovind

5. The major argument for this
comes from a mistaken interp of tracks found in a river bed. The bed contains multiple dino tracks and what looks like human tracks. Side by side. Thing is if you follow the human tracks you see that as they exit the river bed the erosion fades away and they clearly become a small biped dino track.

This is typical of how ID/Creationism makes its case. It finds some anamoly and then ignores the evidence of how it really came about.

9. I remember reading about that
I love how they have the cartoon scientist with the "duh duh" voice. I wish these people would stop thumping the bible and actually read it. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 give completely different versions of "creation". How the hell do they explain that?

13. They don't.
I knew one once. Claimed to have read the Bible cover to cover 3 times. She did not believe me when I told her there were two versions of the creations in Genesis.

18. During my debates
The standard means of reconciling that issue is to claim that first one is what happened and the second is just a summation. Its cheap but its effective.

Not only does he have "scientific" evidence, but there is chapters of Genesis with helpful commentary from him, to help you understand.

16. Project Steve
One of the tactics the ID/Creationists use is to site all the Scientists they have on their side. They managed to come up with a list of scientists that sided with them.

As a reaction some in the scientific community decided to respond with a list of their own. But they decided to put a bit of a humorous spin on it. Thus was born Project Steve.

Project Steve was a list of scientists named Steve (in honor of Stephen J Gould) that supported the theory of evolution. The goal was 200 names. They are now well over 500 scientists named Steve that have signed onto the project.

Here is the list: http://www.ncseweb.org/resources/articles/3697_the_list_2_16_2003.asp

Nanosaur started out as a proof of concept, then built from there. Bugdom1 and 2 and Ottomatic used the same game engine.
