"There is an axis of terror that begins in Iran..."
from today's Washington Post:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47835-2003Oct5.html

<snip>

"Today's operation . . . was intended to send a message that no one can strike Israel with impunity," said Dore Gold, a senior adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. "There is an axis of terror that begins in Iran, and it reaches the Gaza Strip, and its main crossroads is in Syria."

</snip>

This statement bothers me on many levels:
1) the repetition of the word "axis" - as used previously by Bush.
2) The use of the word "terror" - it seems any violence not sanctioned by the U.S. is called "terror" - but any violence done by the U.S. or Israel is not called this.
3) The statement indicates that it is very likely that the entire middle east is going to be swept up in this "war on terror." Is America ready for this?

1. More troublesome than anything is the fact that Israel call the shots for
this administration. Bush has been 'dissed' by Sharon at least three times publicly. Israeli money, deceit, and unbridled anti-Semitism (the real kind) goes largely uncheked because the EU Jews who claim Israel and the rest of the ME as their 'promised' land have dispersed themselves among the most powerful and influential systems in every major western country and largely control their governments with their money and blackmail. They are the real 'anti-Semites,' disparaging every Arab in anyway that they can using language and terms that others would be villified for using if they were said about a Jew. Unless and until the rest of the world and the really decent, freedom loving, human-loving people throughout the world, especially in the US, (and this includes the Jews among us who dissent from current Israeli policies)rise up and take back their governments we are facing a lifetime of terror.

2. No.
Bush has destroyed the US ARMY. It is over extended. Our blowhard "ally" is on its own.

3. I am mindful of the fact that Ariel Sharon knows that he will be
indicted for war crimes as soon as he is out of office, for the Chatilla and Sabra massacres in the 80s, for which he is responsible.

The only thing that can save him is natural/unnatural death while in office.

4. Israel is a co-conspiritor in U.S./PNAC plan for world war and
domination. That much is clear.

6. GRRRRRRR
I find posts like this funny. Sorry, but as much as I think the PNAC group is a bunch of turds, I can't buy the whole conspiracy theory.

10. It's not funny in the least.
Go here to learn more: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=124&topic_id=18525

Further evidence of the extensive ties between PNAC and Israel can easily be found with a quick "Google", and/or, searching the archives right here at DU. The ties are extensive, and undeniable, as is the fact that PNAC's fascist neocons are running the current U.S. government.

So what's so funny about that???

14. Funny, you claim "evidence"
but the rant you link to was locked for lack of a link - just your own opinionated raving (which BTW shows a total misunderstanding of PNAC's motives and goals).

5. Another attempt by Sharon to exploit 9/11.
I have a suggestion:

END THE OCCUPATION and abandon the ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS.

NOW.

9. I' just like to point out that
that if a series of lines were drawn from different points in Iran to different points in the Gaza Strip, their main crossroads would lay in Iraq, not Syria. :P

11. Sharon is getting impatient for the imperium.
Remember before the war, John Bolton assured him that Syria and Iran would be dealt with. They hadn't counted on getting bogged down in Iraq.

Sharon's goading Bush - perhaps even trying to precipitate a broader conflict - in order to make the US keep its part of the bargain. And for Sharon, it's quite a bargain.
