Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 06:11 AM by mopaul

how can a man get to be over 50 and then suddenly develop a jaw grinding facial tic overnight? what's up with that mr. bush? hitting the ol' peruvian flake again are we?

or meth? or crank, or some other officially sanctioned stimulant or medication to control your coke seizures?

c'mon man, level with an old former junkie.

1. The President of Columbia
was one of the few visitors to the pig farm this summer. I think W developed the 'coke jaw' pretty soon after that visit. Must have been some fine stuff he's been tooting.

2. Tardive dyskinesia
Tardive dyskinesias (TDs) are involuntary movements of the tongue, lips, face, trunk, and extremities that occur in patients treated with long-term dopaminergic antagonist medications. Although they are associated with the use of neuroleptics, TDs apparently existed before the development of neuroleptics. People with schizophrenia appear especially vulnerable to developing TDs after exposure to neuroleptics, toxins, and other agents. TDs are most common in patients with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder who have been treated with antipsychotic medication for long periods, but TDs occasionally occur in other patients as well.

Some people who have personality disorders with mood swing symptoms are also prescribed anti-psychotics. His abusive drinking and illicit drug use were only symptoms of an underlying disorder.

11. So did I
Back in the day when I enjoyed a pharmacopia of self-medications. The thing is though, you only suffer lockjaw when you're speeding, not after, not inbetween. Which means, our prez is possibly tweaking a lot. Which also means he's in danger of descending into psychosis, if he hasn't already.

46. Do you really think that man cares about your home town?
Personally I think that NO and the rest of the hit cities are going to be built back bigger and better. Hurricane proof is going to be the name of the day when building again.

When we put new doors and windows on our house my X insisted on using hurricane proof windows - supposedly they sustain winds up to 120 mph or maybe higher. When Charely hit last year I watched it from my living room and those windows didn't move an inch. They looked so secure I was not afraid at all. I wasn't in the hardest hit part of the storm but there was definitely a lot of damage around me. In contrast my cousin was on the 9th floor in her condominium and she said the windows were actually shaking. And in one of the other storms the water got in and ruined all her carpet. If and when she replaces the windows I am sure she will spend the extra $ for hurricane proof also.

So you can rebuild. And it can be better. And I think it will.

I appreciate your words of encouragement. Let me try to explain where I'm coming from:

Like it or not, he is the President and as the President he is the only person to have the authority to get federal money (which is imperative) down there. He is the only person, sadly, that can set the tone for this to happen. Sometime you just have to play with the cards you're dealt.

Utterly predictable. No real commitment. Lots of "ought to's" and "we should's" but no explanation as to how and whom would be paying for all this.

Platitudinous nonsense in an attempt to halt the sinking balloon.

but I didn't really expect that detail in a speech. I did want a tone set, and I actually think he was half-successful at that. I think the fact that in the "real world" more conservatives were pissed off by the speech than liberals should be telling.

39. I'll Reserve Judgment On That
Wait until tomorrow or the next day and see how it spins to see who was more upset by it.

The true conservatives might be upset about the money, and the lunatic right might be upset that by taking the blame it makes their boy look bad.

But, the early returns are that most americans who watched, heard, or read the speech were essentially unmoved.

So, tone from someone who can't inspire the populace to action seems sort of irrelevant. And besides, what else was he supposed to say? "You're on your own. Tough luck. The Saints will have to find some other city to play in."? That's why is was dreadfully predictable and no solutions were really offered.

Not that i'm surprised. This crowd only knows how to get into trouble, not how to find solutions.
The Professor

He didn't pause long enough to "grind." It was difficult to watch the idiot but I was looking for those funny faces he makes and it seemed he kept the speed up to eliminate his problems. Notice no questions were allowed. That is when the real jaw gripping starts along with the blinking, smirking, chuckling that he learned from mom.

Off subject, but, this morning's prayer meeting in some cathedral was oh soooo touching, speaking so sincerely about god's willingness to help the U.S. and bush's manmade f.u. Did he mention feeding and watering the poor bastards? Couldn't watch long enough to find out if he personally felt a responsibility for making Sure the basic needs were met, even at this late date.

64. I saw the service this A.M at the National Cathedral In W.D.C.
I found the service very moving. It was an ecumenical service in the Episcopal Church. The music was especially moving, and I broke down and cried when the multi racial choir sang "It is well with my soul" It's a very old favorite of mine. Regarding Bushes speech though, I'm ashamed to say that when I saw him go up into the pulpit to speak, I prayed for God to "STRIKE HIM DEAD"on the spot!! How dare that evil, evil man take the pulpit in Gods House for his excuses and lies!! I found it NOT MOVING AT ALL! Just phony and hollow and holier than thou! I'm beginning to think he IS one of the minor Anti Christs! The real Anti Christ is supposed to bring 3 yrs. of Peace to the world, and fool everyone with his miracles, even some Christians. Then after the 3yrs is up he shows his true colors!!! But I think Bush really believes he is the Messiah!
