Republican men are victims, women and minorities are not |
|
This past week we have seen Rush resign from a gig for a racial slur and his drug addiction exposed. Instead of owning UP to his transgressions, he has opted to frame himself as a victim of liberals and the "PC" crowd...a crowd whose callous disregard for free speech is only surpassed by his own.
This is the same Rush Limbaugh who, whenever he mentions Carol Mosely Braun on the campaign trail plays the theme song to "The Jeffersons"
Then we have Arnold Schwarzenegger who is a victim of a vast left wing conspiracy. Several women were CONTACTED by the LA Times, their families and business associates contacted and confirmed their story as well. As a result, Arnold's reputation, which STILL IS exactly as it was the day before the story ( a disrespectful womanizing male who feels he is entitled to grops at any part of anyone he pleases) is still in tact...and how does he respond??
So the next time the Republicans pipe up about personal responsibility and victim behavior. Please print this and hand it to them...along with a healthy helping of CROW!

Rush would shamelessly play the victim card. He is citing such absurdities as his 'free speech' is being infringed.
Other great moments in right-wing scapegoating and playing the victim card:
Hitler blamed the Jews for Germany's ills in the 1920's. "Mein Kampf" was rewritten in English in the early 1990's and given a snarky Americanized makeover. It was titled "The Way Things Ought To Be".
Poor white southerners blamed black Americans for their poverty and lack of jobs in the pre-Civil Rights era. You hear the same rhetoric today concerning Mexican immigrants in California and other border states. Most of that rhetoric is coming from rich, privileged Californians, but as in the south of not-so-long-ago, the poor whites are used as pawns on the victim chessboard to advance the agenda of hate and blame. Why? Keep the poor at each other's throats, so no one will notice how the rich are screwing them. Enron, et al...
When those with the REAL power start blaming the underclass, whether economic or ethnic-based, you can be sure a screw job is taking place!

6. How 'bout that Republican whose marriage ended because |

Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 12:14 PM by AP
he lived near an Islamic organization which freaked out his wife. He also said that his wife became unruly and irritrable when the rules changed about congressmen accepting gifts like free meals and theater tickets.
Life's tough when you're a Republican.
