Why would anyone listen to Steve Forbes?
Here's a guy who has never had to worry about finding a job or being fired. He's essentially worked in the same company his entire adult life. He's been President of Forbes Inc. since 1980. When his father died in 1991, he gained 51% of the voting shares in Forbes Inc. and the editor-in-chief status at Forbes magazine. He's also, coincidentally, one of the signers of PNAC's PNAC's Statement of Principles.

And he wants to tell you why the current tax system is unfair and why we need a flat tax revolution.

Would you listen to Steve Forbes? Would anyone listen to Steve Forbes if he didn't have the money to be heard and the magazine to pipe his opinions through?

1. Because they're very wealthy (like he is) and
he's trying to reduce their taxes at the expense of the poor and middle class.

In a word, GREED!

2. No shit.
I have been wondering the exact same thing.

The fact that Steve Forbes (as a representative of the oligarchy) is advocating this is, to me, reason enough to assume it's a scam.

3. He reminds me of the vampire father from "The Lost Boys."
The character played by Edward Hermann...

Actually, that's an apt comparison, given he's a bloodsucking control freak.

4. That's a good comparison.
They're even similar in appearance!

I wonder if Edward Hermann has ever played a working class person before. :D

He's a dead ringer for him (that's what I meant initially)
No, I think Edward Hermann plays the upper crust quite well - like Richard Gilmore, etc. :D

6. He played Richie Rich's father. And the rich guy in "Overboard!"
God I've seen a lot of bad movies with Edward Hermann in them. :D
