Houston Airport flights backed up...Too Few Ticket Screeners available. |

Either the Screeners evacuated, are held up in traffic or didn't show up according to the reporter on the scene.
How is this different from NO's? If people are told to evacuate then the service workers will evacuate, too. Nagin said the buses in NO's didn't have enough drivers. You can't just pick folks up off the street to drive a bus...you need a special drivers license by law to operate a bus.
People are trying to organize their families so I can understand why they didn't show up...but maybe they just ought to wave the ticket restrictions to get folks through or they will end up stuck for days in the "George Bush Airport."
I think this is going to prove that what went on in NO's and LA was not the fault of mayor or governor, but faulty plans and that all that Homeland Security Money that we got taxed for didn't go where it was supposed to.

Airlines just called me an hour ago to tell me that he is headed to Houston to help evacuate. I got the impression that this was sponsored by the company.

2. CNN was reporting they were trying to bring in "Screeners" from other |

areas of the country. Maybe they will get there in time. But, one would think someone would have thought of this before. :eyes:
