|
Edited on Fri Sep-23-05 04:31 PM by trof
Oh, man! You don't want to miss this.
They're about to put a guy in a wind tunnel to see how much he can take at Cat. 3 speeds.
That's it, Fonzie. CNN has officially jumped the shark.

5. They do that every hurricane season.. all the networks do it |
|
and they always drag out the same old tired videos...
the woppa-woppa-woppa thrashing back and forth stop sign..
the overhead traffic light flared out parallel to the street, or spinning wildly..
the bent over palm tree with all fronds swept to one side
the gas station roof wobbling and flying off
waves crashing on a beach

or whatever it's called...on Fletcher near USF and go into the "hurricane chamber", it's kinda fun to do. I don't recall the wind speeds they crank it up to, probably about 100 IIRC. ;-)

21. It's a reference to a Happy Days episode |
|
where Fonzie waterskied over a shark, in yes his leather jacket and shorts (I can still picture it...).
It's now commonly used to indicate that a TV show is all of a sudden way past its prime, out of ideas.

The guy made it to about 110 mph. He was tied at the waist and feet to keep him from blowing away. They stopped at 110 or so because the experts running it said it was too dangerous to increase the speed.
