Cool research tool: Find rich welfare recipients
Heres a page to find exactly who's getting all that Farm subsidy government money.
In my rather poor county, dozens of prominant republicans are getting MILLIONs!

Check it out

9. yeah but it is blood money
That is how I see it. When 2001 rolled around, I told people to invest in oil to make money. Some did. I didn't. To me, investing in oil is like investing in death and blood.

It is sickening - one of the people on my list is the owner of a Nazi gas station nearby where I live. You can buy gas at a reduced cost (maybe .15 less a gallon) but the application form they make you fill out to get a card to buy the gasoline with asks every question you can imagine - personal stuff and what the hell does this have to do with buying a gasoline card? So I don't have one, but this guy is on the list too.

Damn, this is really sick. I feel like turning that woman in whose husband is getting all this money while she herself is working in a high paying gov't job.

:puke: again ... :puke:

:kick:

and please nominate!

11. I looked at my town too.
And some of the largest payments were made in 1999 but I also notice that they are disaster payments.

2. Damn, my neighbor is in there!
I live in a suburb. This guy has never set foot on a farm, he got over $250,000. He makes his money by renting out his properties in a town over a hundred miles away. He doesn't want to live there because he doesn't want to have to deal with the locals and he likes the religious community here better.

He's also the only guy in the neighborhood who has a backup generator, had to keep his indoor pool running during the recent power outage.

3. It's the "good ole boys" network in action
They keep it within their circle of friends. The longer you have this going on, the more it begins resembling feudalism or the last days of Rome.

4. yes that is what it is here too
I recognize the names - a small rural area.

One is a cheesemaker and I was thinking about trying to get a job there a long time ago.

It paid minimum wage, was a 40 mile drive and no benefits and also they tested for drugs.

I said forget this crap job!

And I see many others too ... ye ol' boy timber industry network.

:puke: God this IS sickening!

Please recommend! See who the real welfare recipients are living around you! :puke:

5. I personally know a few farmers in
Mower County, MN. One is a multi-multi millionaire, who owns several thousand acres of ground outright. This person has also received well over $700,000 in susidies since 1995. I know very few people who have made this much in gross income over the last ten years!!!

I also see another guy I know - a MAJOR repuke. He's received over $250,000 in the last ten years. I can't hardly look at this site I get so pissed off.:grr:

14. My uncle sold $250,000 of corn and got $50,000 in subsidies one year!
Also a MN farmer. I remember how happy he was, he had a bumper crop a few years ago when corn prices went through the roof and made a killing. He used the money to build a new house. On top of that I now find out he was paid $50,000 in subsidies to boot that same year?

I love my uncle, but this is insane, paying $50,000 after he makes $250,000, while millions of people here in the US can barely afford to eat the very food he grows.

Ironically, he is also the one who bitches about people on welfare destroying this country, while he has recieved over $160,000 between 1995-2003. All I can say is that the Christmas dinner conversation should be entertaining this year, to say the least }(

16. I chose a random farmer from my state, and here are his stats:
Year Conservation Subsidies Disaster Subsidies Commodity Subsidies Total USDA Subsidies
1995-2003
1995 $0 $0 $0 $0
1996 $0 $0 $0 $0
1997 $0 $0 $0 $0
1998 $0 $0 $0 $0
1999 $0 $0 $510,064 $510,064
2000 $9,500 $50,500 $675,645 $735,645
2001 $12,662 $0 $694,836 $707,498
2002 $8,563 $0 $477,240 $485,803
2003 $9,053 $240,390 $285,985 $535,428
Total $39,778 $290,890 $2,643,771 $2,974,439

Okay... this doesn't look like it translates well in this post, but I bolded the total amount this guy has received since 1995. No single poor person in Baltimore will receive this much in his/her whole life.

17. I Was Ready to Joke about CHEENEE's being a Welfare Queen
from reaping $$$ through his influence, but the actual agricultural welfare in my county was sobering enough. You have to get down to #8 or #11 on the lists before finding a single minority surname. I wonder whether these welfare queens load their grocery carts with steaks all the time.
