1. Yes
Elected Democrats want to win, but don't want to do the work.

3. Looks like ANSWER and the far left to me
Never get anything accomplished, just take the lazy way out and play rebel.

And if some people want to continuously shit on Democrats, than you know what, fuck it, may as well shit on ANSWER too because they DON'T help a goddamned thing. I can't believe the number of people who have defended whining about Democrats as "constructive criticism", but when others point out realities about ANSWER, well then it's all "where's the unity... whaaa".

And now this piece of hilarity, oh it's soooo funny...

4. There are days ...

Some days, I see more bashing of Democrats here than I do in the MSM. It's disconcerting to say the least.

Good mini-rant.

5. getting people in the streets is the ONLY WAY to get things done when your
'leaders' won't listen nor LEAD, and has always been true throughout our history.

12. No, it's the voters
Always the voters. It was the moms and vets, the voters, who ended Vietnam. Go back in history, nothing changes until the mainstream voter wants change. Fringe marches have never changed anything.

Besides, my point was the hypocrisy of the whining about unity coming from the same group of people who take pride in refusing to give an ounce of unity themselves.

Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 12:28 AM by bpilgrim
every major social change in this country and the world has only come after SIGNIFICANT protests&civil disobedience.

the VOTERS don't write LAW.

besides even our VOTE is in question now (BBV) helped along by our obsessive worrying about our 'image' or the play'n possum strat.

check the history books :hi:

7. After 10 months of being here, I've realized that....
we have a large number of members that are ideologues first and party members second. And there is a HUGE gap in their loyalty towards the two.

What they don't seem to grasp is that with the system we have, the Democratic Party is the only method they have to implement any of their ideology. And, further, the Democratic Party has ALWAYS been a collection of many different ideologies, and that is why no one ideology will ever prevail. Compromise WITHIN the party has always been necessary, and will always be necessary. Unfortunately, to most ideologues, compromise is not in their vocabulary.

15. Since you probably missed it
I've been none too thrilled with the ANSWER onslaught the last few days and have said so. It makes me furious when people get sidetracked with bullshit instead of pulling together to get out the message. And it doesn't matter whether it was swift boat ignorance last year or ANSWER ignorance yesterday and today.

But then, I open this thread and I'm reminded that it's perfectly acceptable to piss all over Democrats any day of the week, so I call them on it. Negativity and divisiveness is not the solution. If this can get one person to understand the importance of staying on the message, one person who didn't get it last year, then good. I will bang on..

13. So ANSWER me, what have you or your organization done for ME lately?
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 12:14 AM by countmyvote4real
Please be specific. I’d really like to know how the ANSWER organizers have a conflict with MY well-being or even YOURS. Do tell. Spell it out for once and for all. (The pile-on that you seem to support is losing some impact for lack of content or warrants.)

20. Really isn't the question
The question is why is it so cute to piss all over Democrats who have done an enormous amount for me, but it's all whaaa and unity when somebody criticizes ANSWER. ANSWER has never done squat for me, nada, zero, zilch. Except be the lightening rod for the Limbaughs to point at that make it harder to get out a coherent message of any sort. Which seems to me to be the logical purpose for their existence.

But in any event, I have been vocally against this stupid ANSWER uproar and suggested we all focus on the positive that came out of the peace marches.

Until I opened up another ain't it cute to piss on Dems thread, which gives me an automatic, oh fuck you, you self-righteous elitist snob-assed anarchists anyway. That's a generic you, not a personal you.

why is it ok to do that to do that to weTHEpeople LEFTIES?!?

can you hear me now? I hear you all but i think there is a serious double standard here that y'all are obviously miss'n.

our LEADERS are supposed to be CRITICIZED when they FAIL in their JOBS, thats why they get paid the big bucks and perks, hello, or would you rather have the * brownies on our side, too?

23. Cute has nothing to with anything, but television.
I am talking about responsible government, not pissing matches.

Once again, why, whatever, what have the (and I’ll be more specific) white Senators done for US lately? I recall that Senator B. Boxer was the ONE Senator to stand with the CBC to contest the electoral vote of * in 2004. The candidates of the Democratic Party were too concerned with “bad form” to even formally contest the issue. That’s really all that I have to support the Democratic Senators.
But as you choose to be informed by Rush, (that would be laughable if your mindset wasn’t followed by a tear on this end) I have to believe that you are posting on the wrong board. You might feel more comfortable at freerepublic.com.

If you REALLY, REALLY believe that the Democratic Party is a big tent (and you’re not a freeper in disguise) then you have some issues that we need to address. How can I help?

Is it a race thing? Is it a God thing? (Please, don’t even presume to go there. I can’t begin to talk to you.) Do you think that there is no global warming? Is it all about pro choice, or do you ultimately condone a death by voluntary draft because you have more noble and personal causes that neglect your personal service in Iraq? Maybe it’s a class thing? I don’t know. Please inform me.

I don’t know if this is this what you mean about piss, but it’s a load.

28. And excuse me, this is what exactly???
Oh, I forgot, you can say whatever the fuck you want to say because... why again?

Your little rant was as unnecessary and unhelpful as the ANSWER agenda, which was as unhelpful as the ANSWER complaint threads, and as the stupid little Garfield strip. DISTRACTIONS, all of them.

"With a minute to breathe, I am going to talk a second about what I just saw with the Black Bloc crew. There were maybe about 200 of them, separated from the main march by several blocks. They traveled in a clot, shook their fists at McDonalds, threw dumpsters and newspaper boxes into the street, and generally made noise. The police were amused.

I was not. Screw these people. Screw them for their mindless violence against stuff in the street - we blocked traffic in the middle of a traffic jam, ooooh. Screw them for diverting attention from the main march. Camera crews were sparse at the main rally, because the cameras are spread all over the city. Yet of course, camera crews scrambled after these blivets like pilot fish. I'll bet you a dollar the corporate media will use these infants as representatives of the main.

Oh, yeah, and they were all white kids. Twenty-something tattoed white kids with piercings in their piercings. If they are representing the downtrodden, they sure didn't have any in their crew. The ethnic makeup of the main march was as diverse as I have ever seen. These Black Bloc cretins should go home and do their homework or something. I think their mothers are calling.

It occurs to me that the Bloc goobers did their thing blocks away from the main march for a good reason. The main march participants would not have tolerated them. The Blocies would have gotten their pants pulled down and spanked."

21. freeper rant re: "anti-american" march saturday :)
did you REALLY watch the protest?? did you REALLY see WHO was protesting?? the communists, the stalinists, the muslums, the gays, etc, etc, etc, it was Not an anti war protest, it was just ANTI American protest..and I have a big problem with that!!! You don't like it, get your ass to France!!

for anyone who believes protests marches don't accomplish anything, i counter with just the fact that they make some of our worthy opponents this apoplectic makes em worthwhile.
