Gene Taylor (D) Mississippi - I LOVE YOU! |
|
Saw you on CSpan WJ the other day and today your questioning of Brown (ie), of heck of a job Brownie, was awesome. Thank goodness, we have a Representative from Mississippi willing to ask question from the perspective of having been "on the ground" and calling "Brownie" on his "dysfunctional Louisiana" remarks. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you!!

2. He is a great Democrat. |
|
He was my Congressman when I lived in Mississippi. In the early 1990's Congress voted themselves an obscene pay raise. Gene voted against it but it passed. He took the money he would have gotten from the raise and started a scholarship for underprivileged kids to go to college.

4. Maybe Senator Gene Taylor in 2006 |
|
I'd like to see Gene Taylor run for Trent Lott's seat. He's smart, a vet, telegenic, a new Southern Democrat. Who knows, maybe a potential candidate for VP - can you see a Clark/Taylor ticket? Army/Navy!

He's socially quite conservative and anti-choice. He probably needs to be given that his district is 67% Republican, but that probably disqualifies him from the national ticket.
But Senator Taylor? I could see that. He's got a good economic-populist streak in him.

6. Is he the one who was talking about his son helping him to make |

shutters for the house? The house was destroyed, and he and his family lost everything, but the shutters? He was also talking about how the insurance companies were trying to screw everyone including him and he sounded like he was going to go after the insurance companies.
