Who will fund the recall Arnold petition drive? |
|
Every governor at least since Reagan has faced a recall petition drive, but they have always petered out. Not to underestimate the unpopularity of Davis, but this could not have succeeded without a Sugar Daddy on the Right to bankroll the petition drive. When the Recall Arnold movement begins tomorrow morning we will need somebody similar to provide funding. California law stipulates that petitions may only circulate for 160 days, which can go by real fast when trying to get over 1 million signatures and maintain political momentum for the movement. Is anyone aware--I have not lived in California since 1994--of a person or persons who are planning to fund the petition drive

This is something the repukes can't understand. I was handing out anti-recall flyers in front of a grocery store on Sunday and a man came up to me demanding that I tell him who was paying me. When I told him I was a volunteer he refused to believe me. I guess he couldn't understand civic duty and conviction of principles.

10. A mayor in California whose last name is Brown |
|
publicly stated when the recall started if someone became governor who was not qualified to govern the state, he would fund a recall starting the next day. Not sure, but he might be the mayor of San Francisco. I am sure it was reported he personally has deep pockets.
Go Mayor Brown!

16. There are two mayors named Brown |
|
Jerry in Oakland, and Willie in SF.
And FWIW, if you think about the number of folks that were out in the streets during the anti-war movement, it is probably safe to say that they are all anti-Schwartzagroper. The petition signatures that the Repukes needed to buy, a dollar at at time, will likely be collected quickly just by canvassing the folks that opposed the war.

that I'm saving up for an eventual trip to Australia and New Zealand to check out colleges there. But I can find some more money. If Ahnuld wins, I'm willing to use that money for a recall petition. Though as you've all stated, we work for free ;-)

Do you control that domain, or are you just assuming that because someone owns it that they will build it.
I tried to buy it a few weeks ago and it was already history, and I had very definate ideas about building it. But we need to consider the possibility that someone may have bagged it, just to preclude it from being available for (heh heh) mal-use...
