He was a highly decorated soldier with combat experience. He has spoken with human rights groups.
The one thing, which works against him, is the information he has was given to him by others who have witnessed the abuse. While I don't doubt his word, others might and will even target him as a result.
I don't see it going too far since there really isn't much else. Having said that, Lisa Meyers who did the report, dropped the ball by not mentioning the latest Abu Graib pics and video which has been squashed and buried.
The report came off as weak and a quick look at the surface. Ended with the Pentagon will investigate itself if they find anything wrong.
At the start of the report, it was strong and ended very weakly.
