Maybe these horrible years were meant to be. |
|
Although, I find myself seething with anger when I think of what could have been if Al Gore had taken his rightful place as President, I am beginning to realize now that there were years of rot festering beneath the red, white and blue facade of our Democracy.
Perhaps this had to be, to expose all of this corruption not only in our government but our media and education systems and how much we are owned body and soul by the major corporations. I still cry at the lives lost that didn't need to be lost because of how our government and our resources have been misused by these greedy criminals.
The sad truth is that this would have eventually come to a festering head even if Gore had managed to be sworn into the White House. The monsters would have dogged him like they did Clinton and probably suicided many in their wake. They would have still operated like cockroaches in the dark.
Although they still operate the same way, there is too much light on them right now that puts them in the spotlight and little by little they are being exposed for the festering vermin that they are. Maybe this is how destiny was meant to be played out.

1. You talk as if there's light at the end of the tunnel. |

I just see a tunnel with its walls painted a lighter shade of grey.

3. Nice post, Cleita. Very insightful. |

I've often thought what's been happening is a disease that has struck our country. Like many diseases, this one may need to get worse before it can get better.
It is my hope that the worst is what we are facing now.
We must all together fan the flames of the growing national fever to exorcise the debilitating plague that is Bush.

5. There is no difference between Democrats and Replublicans |

One group lets you know you are going to get screwed up front, and the other does it behind your back.

4. That's my thinking, too. |

We should have dealt with this in the 70s (Watergate), 80's (Iran Contra), and the 90's (BCCI). We didn't and this is the price we are paying.
We've been living "on hold" for a decade it seems. But if suffering the ills of the past 5 years means finally lancing the boil of the Republican governance once and for all, it'll be worth it. A clear field for a true progressive and enlightened national agenda for my kid's future will make it worthwhile.

7. There is no reason for all the suffering. Except to remind us that |

elites will go as crazy as elites in the middle ages - and coopt good information and spew out bad - if left unchecked.
