three easy steps to waking up America
1) get the signatures to recall Arnold--how hard would it be to get a million in the largest dem state in america? Start today when at least half that number are pissed off.

2)Run a movie star against arnold. How about Warren Beatty? Make a real circus out of it.

3) This would force the media to make a choice: Expose the current election system we have as the farce is, or make America the laughing stock of the planet.

Maybe that would shame americans, the media whores, and the pundits into starting to think serously about their democracy.

1. I'm not at all convinced that Americans
can be shamed. Turn defensive and belligerent when confronted with the truth of their arrogance and ignorance, maybe...but not shamed

the above doesn't apply to all Americans...just that vocal minority that calls itself "the voice of America"

2. I hate to break this to you
but as a recent immigrant constantly called upon to explain the United States to friends and colleagues, you are already the laughing stock of the world. Well, we're sort of scared of you because we think you're nuts, but we still laugh.

Fielded two "Ahhh-nold" joke emails so far tonight.

I do not think the vast majority of Americans -- "media" included -- are terribly concerned about the state of the union.

3. I used the term loosely.
Most sensible Americans ultimately don't give a shit what the rest of the world thinks of our internal politics--even though we're thankful that Canada, Europe and Australia help boost our economy by making our highly paid political consultants and pollsters such huge export products.

We americans do need to take a hard look at our bizarre inability to see through stagecraft.
