Cafferty drawing Katrina analogy when talking about California fires |
|
Jack Cafferty was just on "The Situation Room," showing video of helicopters dropping chemicals, and firefighters desperately dousing hillsides with water.
He said something to the effect of, "These are million-dollar homes, and they're doing everything they can to save them. It makes you think about those hills of Southern California... every year, it's fires, floods and mudslides. Why are we still building homes on such a precarious piece of land, Wolf?"
Interesting, Jack. Interesting. :-)

and very very heavily insured. Many of the homes(mansions) will be saved because they learned to do the brush clearance around the yards (estate property). The issue is local and state officials are handling it and we don't need bush to screw it up for us. We have real actual experience !
Every section of the country has something, Cafferty remember that! ;)

2. is there anywhere we're allowed to live |
|
in the east there's blizzards & terra attacks
in the south there's tropical weather
in the midwest there's tornadoes
in the west there's fire
i guess we can all move to alaska & maybe that'll shut up the naysayers? oops, the permafrost is melting & the towns will soon start dropping into the marsh beneath
i dunno, seems like we're not allowed to live anywhere w.out being shit on by the critics

I saw Wolfie talking about it last night |

WTF!?!?! Anyway to turn attention away from Katrina, Iraq and DeLay. This fucking choad used to be good. . .now he's a shill. Who cares if there is a fire in California? From the pictures, it doesn't look too big. And if it is, the Hills around the 118 Freeway have wealthy homes with home-owners insurance. WTF kind of distraction is this?

4. Well, speaking from the standpoint of someone in the East. |
|
Blizzards don't generally damage houses, and terra attacks are unlikely in the backwoods here.
Tornados though feirce are a bit like lightning -- your chances of catching one are low.

Then there are fair few flood plains. Every section of the country has something Mother Nature throws at it.

Way to hand them their asses. Now can we discuss rebuilding million-dollar homes on the beaches of the Carolinas.
