In the mean time when will the twin towers be reconstructed?
Everyones talking about rebuild Texas and New Orleans, and rightly so, but have we forgoten that the twin towers have yet to be rebuilt? I was just thinking about this a little while ago. Does anyone know what the current plans are for that rebuilding are?

2. 2007?
I don't know. It will be a while. Whatever their completion date is, you know they won't make it.

7. Because they NEED the coast.
We have lots of buildings in New York. The sense of urgency is not the same.

I believe they can rebuild the coast. People want to resume living there. People want their homes back.

When World Trade collapsed, people moved into other office buildings. Even if they would prefer to be back at the World Trade location, they are functioning in different offices now.

6. I don't think so.
I don't even know what the design looks like. I saw a few of them way back in the beginning, but lost interest. They weren't attractive buildings to begin with, and I have a feeling they won't be attractive this time either.

The next time I'm down that way, I'll take a look at the foundation (or hole in the ground, whichever it is).

8. I Work Across the Street
from the WTC site. They have constructed a temporary PATH train station but not much else.

They have rebuilt on the site where WTC Building 7 stood.

5. The approved design had to go back to the drawing board for
a little bit, after the NYPD cited some "security concerns" about the design.

The museum's been pulled (for now).

The work on the transportation hub goes on.
