Crocodile In New Orleans?

I was e-mailed some photos, today, of a very dead crocodile rumored to be found swimming in the streets of New Orleans. How the hell did a 21 foot long, 4,500 pound supposedly 80 year old crocodile end up in Louisiana? I thought that was strictly alligator territory. The photos are for real but how about the locale?

crocs are not native to the US...alligators however are...

2. Actually there is a species of crocs

that live in South FL.

5. There is an American croc found in Florida. All 500-1200 of them.

They are on the endangered species list.

I have been in NC, SC and GA where they have alligators...

8. Croccodile in New Orleans

I figured that to be a hoax and wondered if the photo had been taken in Africa. Thanks!!! If, true that would have made front page or major TV news news in this country. Thanks.
