Wasted ten minutes of my life watching Hulk Hogan play moderate freeper...
First thing I heard was the RW talking point of nobody knew the levees would break.

He says at the height of Clinton's popularity after the Monica fiasco, a poll was done asking who would they pick for president: Either him or Clinton.

Hogan insists he got 75% of the vote. :eyes: If that was true, then no one took it all that seriously.

He said there was a time people preferred a movie about prostitutes over one about nuns. He thinks more people are living right and positive now than before.

I expected him to freep and stump on bush. I didn't catch all the interview, but it was a definite waste of time.

The show was Big Idea with Donny Deutchs(sp?)on CNBC.

1. Ohhh... OK, now I see what you're talking about

Well, it's no surprise; most muscle-headed cartoon macho guys tend to flock with the Righties. Hogan's whole persona during the 80s was all-American super hero guy (before the roids scandal, of course).

7. the WWE is very right wing.
Ventura's moderatation may come from the fact that he served in combat. All the other WWE types are just chickenshit/Chickenhawks.

Ventura told the truth. Hogan's just an easy money asshat.

2. hogan
also thinks his shit dont stink, and i think has lost the line between reality and fantasy. ie the poll with him for pres. i think that poll was run by a wrestling outfit so duh of course he would get most of the votes.

and he is very very jealous of jesse ventura, cause ventura actually had the balls to run for public office and win, while Mr. Terry Bollea just whines and boasts.

3. I saw that
It was pathetic. Jesse Ventura told it like it is. He said he's leaving the country where he will have his freedom.Doesn't like the idiot's policies and says we are not any more safe than before 9-11. Hulk could take a few lessons from Jesse.

4. Details Please? How was Hogan and how was Ventura?
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 10:09 PM by AX10
Also, I know that Ventura is moderate and tells it like it is, so I'm not suprised that Jesse was blunt. Also, Jesse was a Navy Seal in Vietnam, so he fought for this country, Hogan did not.

6. Ventura wasn't on there...

but's no secret Hogan's jealous as hell over it. He would never get the kind of support Jesse got and still has. Jesse always puts his money where his mouth is and he's one guy who walks the walk...unlike Hogan who sells out and loves himself too much.

10. Jesse the Body used to have the best
interview schtick of any of the WWF wrasslers.

He had his sunglasses and feathery boa, and in the middle of the interview, he'd grab the mike from Mean Gene Okerland and say, "I have to interrupt you here Mean Gene, cause I have something I have to say to all the kids watching us right now."

Then he'd take off his glasses and pear into the camera and quietly say,

"Now kids, I know many of you are having struggles in your lives. And whether they are contests or problems, you must confront them head on."

Meanwhile Mean Gene would nod along looking very serious.

Jesse would continue,

"And here's my advice for fighting your battles kids. Fight hard. Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat."

Then Mean Gene would grab the mike back and apologize to all the viewers and chase a laughing Jesse the Body off the stage.

It was always good for a laugh no matter how many times he did it.

9. Let me tell ya'll somethin.......
this is from someone that has followed wrestling for almost twenty years...me.

Their are three different Hulk Hogan/Terry Bolleas

Hulk Hogan/Hollywood-The guy in the ring, that i still have a soft spot for after all these years.Let's face it-The man was good, entertainment wise.

Terry Bollea, the professional bussinessman-Total shrill for himself and completely full of shit.Once said he was gonna play bass for metallica.

Terry Bollea, the dad-Seems like a good one who cares about his kids.

Unfourtantely tonight, number two was TV and was full as usual of just that.

12. Hogan thinks of everything in terms of his wrestling popularity
He saw that Jesse became governor, and thinks because he was such a bigger wrestling star than Ventura, that means he could win the presidency in a landslide.

Of course, when it comes to roids, he was the Raffy Palmeiro of wrestling, saying on Arsenio he never did them, then having to testify he did. So any chance he could make it in politics would be blasted in four seconds flat.
