Do you remember that incident when DeLay was told to put out his cigar because it was a government law not to smoke in that establishment, and he retorted with his typical belligerence, "I am the government!"

We need to remind people that DeLay said so himself. He is the government. A classic case of words coming back to bite you in the butt, eh, DeLay?

He really said "I am the government"? Has anyone pointed out that it's a direct quote from a king of France (Louis XIV) and is a perennial symbol of royal arrogance. "L'etat, c'est moi." "I am the state." Not too long before the American and then the French revolutions.
