Drug addict Limbaugh says libruls scared of new media
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 11:41 AM by thefloyd
so Libruls are trying to discredit the "new media" with media matters, daily kos, DU.
Now right after that he calls these certain websites wackos. So let me ask "who is scared of the new new media". Cons are scared because their new media revolution will not last long

1. "trying to discredit the new media with Web sites..."
What? That doesn't make any sense. Web sites ARE the new media. God, I swear, I think this guy's back on the pills.

12. Is it conceivable that he was ever off the pills ?
I don't recall hearing that he ever went to rehab. Do you think you can kick a habit that large on your own? Do they have something like methadone to hook him on in order to get him off the oxy?

9. Meet the new media, same as the old media.
Rush's run is almost over. The Palm Beach County prosecutor won't go away and leave him alone. By Election 2006 he may not be registered to vote in Florida because he'll be a convicted felon.

4. blogs, bloggers and websites suffer the same problem as
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 11:43 AM by The Backlash Cometh
the word, "government." Whether you think it's good or bad depends on who runs it.

one edit: And by the way, the Freepers and Drudge were stirring up the shit in the 90s, so there's nothing new about right-wing bloggers. Limbo's comment is a bit anachronistic since the liberals are the new kids on the blog.

11. I think that was John Stossel first
He wrote an Op-Ed for the Wall Street Journal I think.

I saw it on Media Matters. That is where I first heard that comment. Perhaps Rush used that article.

Stossel: Price gouging ensures that scarce resources go only "to those who really need it"

Although maybe you are refering to something else since, now that I look at it, Stossel did not saay specifically that it was good for the economy here.

Regardless they are both idiots.

7. Isn't the "new media" comprised of websites, how shall the website
oriented new media fear itself. What a fucking scared pampered jackass. He only comments on his fears. His rhetoric is the simplest to deconstruct, just reverse the signs. You=me liberal=conservative new media=old media etc.

When he says liberals are scared, he means himself and the conservative fuck holsters who can't stand but whine about their failed coup.

8. Do we have to refute what this wacko says?
Limbaugh has been nothing but an obnoxious noisemaker for decades. He isn't worth the attention he gets.

13. If what he means by "new" media
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 12:15 PM by rocknation
is that the media is now state-controlled compared to the independendent and objective media of the past, then I guess it could be said that corporate media is new. But I suspect what he really means is that the "new" media--DU, Kos, et al--consists of "whackos" who are trying to discredit the corporate "real" media.

Put the oxycontin bottle down, Rush, and slowly back away.
